Although not as heavily sherried as other Glenfarclas expressions, the nose on this whisky is divine. Very sweet and well balanced. A buttery smooth whisky, with spicy undertones. A short intense finish, which fills your entire mouth.

This Lowland Distillery took its name from St Magdalene's Cross, once the site of a mediaeval fair and leper colony. The Union Canal which ran behind the distillery supplied the cooling water and served the distillery logistically. The distillery was closed in 1983 and the site redeveloped! Matured in Spanish Oloroso Sherry Butts, the whisky has been bottled from a single cask at cask strength without added colour (it doesn't need it) or chill-filtering. Because it is single cask the flavour profile will change slightly from batch to batch, but it is always stunning. Think heavily sherried Macallan Glenfarclas or Glendronach in terms of style. As the whisky is always from a single cask, the tasting note will vary from time to time.
