Low-quality mezcals use excessive smokiness to hide unpleasant flavors. A little smoke is great, but too much hides mezcals’ more subtle fruit flavors and can overpower a balanced cocktail.
Solmano is an exclusive blend of mezcal with 44% ABV, made by a third-generation mazcalero at our partner distillery in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. Our current products are 2 expressions of mezcal spirits - an espadin and an espadin distilled with natural mango - designed for sharing and mixing into your favorite cocktail.

Envisioning a whisky infused with such variety, he and Master Blender Gillian Macdonald experimented by finishing bourbon-aged Glenmorangie in four different types of cask for the first time.
- Never used before at Glenmorangie, Moroccan red wine casks crafted from French oak give this creation mouth-watering layers of sweet spice.
- New charred oak casks add another spicy dimension.
- Shaved, toasted red wine casks offer nuanced, fruity notes.

On the palate: friendly black currant arrival, but backed with intriguing body and balanced with smokey and peppery tones. Great length and unmatched smoothness.
Food Pairings: Red meats, specifically wild game, lamb, Alberta beef or duck. Because of its smoothness also good with spicy foods like Mexican, Indian or Caribbean. Also pairs well with cheese and given the right side foods could do well with white meats when berries are involved.
Served: at room temperature
Process: Wildflower honey, water and crushed black currants of specifically selected varieties are fermented with a champagne yeast and stored in medium toasted Hungarian wine barrels for 9 months to 1 year.
