This wonderful rosé is from the Similkameen Valley, very close to the Okanagan, British Columbia. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, it is relatively full-bodied with a wonderful strawberry colour and "ripe fruit aromas of strawberry, raspberry and hints of cranberry and citrus. The palate explodes with these same ripe berry flavours, complemented with oak nuances of vanilla and caramel," according to the winery team! "Summer in a bottle," they say, and you know, we agree! From the Distillery: "During the 1970s and 1980s, Michter’s Original Sour Mash Whiskey was the distillery’s single most popular product. While the “Sour Mash” moniker originated from the whiskey production process of the same name – whereby some previously fermented mash is used as the starter for the new mash to be fermented, much like making sourdough bread – Michter’s Original Sour Mash earned distinction for its unique taste. With its unique grain selection, it cannot be categorized as a rye or a bourbon. After disappearing from the market in 1989, Michter’s Original Sour Mash Whiskey made a triumphant return in 2012 with its introduction into the US*1 line. Le Clos des Cazaux Gigondas Sarrasine

This powerful wine is the result of a selection of exceptional terroirs from Gigondas vineyards situated on the arid slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The Mistral wind blows regularly on those hillsides providing a cool balance to the heat of summer.
The poor, rocky soils force the vines to struggle down deep for moisture, keeping yields low but delivering high-quality fruit. This terroir produces a robust wine that can be kept for up to 10 years in the cellar. It's a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 15% Mourvèdre, with a core of dark ripe cherries, garrigues and spice. It would go nicely with ham or prime rib.
