"Don’t like dark beer? Close your eyes! This world class American Brown Ale has wonderful roasty flavours that are sure to surprise.

Upon its release, Open Road brought home Silver in the World Beer Cup in Philadelphia for American Brown Ales. This beer really brings things all together: malt and hops, balancing flavours similar to roasting coffee. Residual sugars that weren’t broken down by the yeast during fermentation give it a sweeter taste like Snickers in a glass—nutty and chocolaty. Open Road is for those looking for something a little darker and malt-forward. Pumpernickel bread and raisins dominate the palate but finish with chocolate, while the hops lend just a hint of citrus and pine to balance out the sweetness of this easy-drinking dark beer."

True Wild Roper's Hold 20 Year Whisky

Batch 1 of Roper's Hold 20-Year-Old has been released by Bryce Parsons and True Wild Distillery. For this batch, the whisky was originally produced at one of the larger distilleries in Southern Alberta. The grain makeup is 90%+ Rye and the rest malted barley - something that the mystery distillery is not typically known for. The whisky has been finished in wine casks sourced from the Okanagan Valley.

This beautiful 20 Year Aged Canadian Rye Whisky was originally distilled right here in Alberta, but was later found in New York, and our team was committed to bringing this one-of-a-kind whisky back home. Once these forgotten barrels returned home to Canada, we finished them in beautiful Okanagan wine and custom American oak barrels to give the whisky its distinct colour and flavour profile."

Esquimalt Kina-Salal

"Kina-Salal is the sequel release to our famous quinquina, Kina-Rouge, the first quinquina style wine made in Canada since WWII and a Double-Gold Winner at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirit Awards.

First developed in France, Quinquina (pronounced 'ka-kina') also known as Tonic Wine. It is a sweet wine that has had a dosage of quinine added, just like Tonic Water is sweetened water with bitter quinine added. To add to the naming confusion, it is also frequently called a 'Kina'. In the case of our Kina-Salal, we used a mead (honey wine) base and wild salal berries and blueberries to pump up the berry juiciness before diving into the astringent bitterness of quinine. Enjoy over ice or topped with soda water. A splash of gin certainly doesn't hurt.

In this new, seasonal, release we crushed 100kg of wild Salal Berries, foraged on Vancouver Island by Ben and Célia of Forest for Dinner, and aged the Salal on our blueberry-blossom mead for 4 months before finally adding 16 different botanicals including trailing blackberry leaves, blueberries, elecampane, dandelion root, ginger and, of course, quinine. The final blend was then aged for an additional 5 months before bottling. 

Only 125 cases were made for this 2024 batch. "
