Cask, 480 has produced 144 hand numbered bottles. Nose: a light fragrance of eucalyptus, butterscotch & treacle; w/ water ripe soft fruit & fresh green apples. This 23 year old bottling of Old Pulteney was matured in both ex-Sherry and Bourbon casks which previously held peated whisky. Bottled at 46% this limited edition is being released in very small quantities in Alberta. Being matured in peated casks this is a very unique expression of Old Pulteney which is typically unpeated.
Distiller's Tasting Note
Nose: Subtle warm wood with hints of peardrops and green apples, fragrant floral notes followed by a spice and fruity touch of ex-sherry casks.
Palate: This full bodied expression is sweet to start with a touch of spice and a long and intense smoky finish.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: This is a curious dram, the fruits were pouring out of the glass as the whisky poured; creamy with candied pineapple, lots of honey, some ashy smoke and a bit of brine; some lovely layers, with the peated cask adding some complexity.
Palate: very sweet, smooth and smoky with a creamy base, and lots of fruit; more diced candied pineapple, honey and vanilla with a big salty backbone; the peat never fades away with leather and some darker fruits emerging.
Finish: long, coating, creamy and fruity with more ashy salty smoke.
Comment: a winter night dram, but very drinkable, I could see a bottle of this disappearing quickly.
Kilkerran Work in Progress 6 Bourbon

The first ten year old release of Kikerran has come in a pair, this one Bourbon matured and the other matured in sherry, both at 46%.
Kilkerran is the name of the single malt produced at the Glengyle distillery. which was reopened in 2005 to settle a grudge and get Campbeltown its regional designation back.
Distiller's Tasting Note
Nose: Inviting and homely straight away. Ripe green apples, herbal sweetness and rich in sugar glazed apricots.
Palate: Its nuts! Rich oily walnuts, continuing the wholesome notes from the nose. More a work in perfection than work in progress, with a great, delicate balance between the sweeter fruit notes and lively spices. It is unmistakenly Campbeltown, so comforting and rich. It gets sweeter and stickier with a touch of water.
Finish: This dram is not for the impatient! Treat it like a cryptic crossword, give it time and enjoy this fabulous Campbeltown spirit.
Benromach 18 Year

From one of the first operating whisky merchants, Gordon & MacPhail, who are still in business today in the Speyside town of Elgin, comes from their Speymalt range of products, a vintage Macallan. Undiluted, this 29 Yr Old shows strong notes of sherry wood with a hint of smokiness. Adding a touch of spring water brings out the floral character so typical of Macallan.
