$188.99
A 21 year old Glen Garioch single cask from a 1st Fill Sherry Butt, cask #774, which yielded 501 bottles. KWM has acquired a dozen of them. Independent bottlings from this distillery are rare, as are sherried expressions.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: big, rich, nutty, leathery and spicy; Christmas cake, chocolates, tobacco and earthy oak;
Palate: a classic sherry bomb, chocolate, Christmas cake, spice, more nutty notes and more leather; as close to a Glendronach as one could be without coming from that distillery; licorice, espresso and clove.
Finish: medium length, but powerful and coating; nutty with potent sherry.
Comment: this is as close as a Sherry Bomb gets to the edge without going over... awesome!
Producer's Description: "A dry nose, almost meaty (pork crackling), becoming more Marsala like. Jaffacakes, Black Forest Gâteau, chocolate ice cream and coffee grounds – all synonymous with long, sherried maturation.
It starts relatively closed then develops huge complexity, now with Brazil nuts coated in dark chocolate, molasses, saddle soap and old leather bags. Incredibly viscous to taste, with a spicy mouth feel, gently drying over a palate of chocolate bonbons, toffee sauce (possibly slightly burnt), and a hint of brandy snaps. A very rare and unique single cask whisky ideal for after dinner contemplation."

SPRINGTIME FRESHNESS; SPICY WARMTH
This 10 year old Speysider comes in at 58.9% after maturing in a refill sherry butt
Flavour profile: Spicy & sweet
Outturn: 547 bottles
Panel's tasting note: "We found pleasant springtime grassy, floral notes on the nose (elderflower) – then fruity (lemon, fruit bonbons, strawberry) ginger and white pepper spice and eventually buttery nutty notes (macadamia). The palate was sweet, chocolatey and creamy (chocolate éclairs) with custard, sugary lemon, some floral flavours and considerable spice warming the after-taste (chili, nippy pepper). The reduced nose developed deeper floral notes (lily of the valley) orchard fruits, lemon curd, pineapple and some washing powder or expensive fabric conditioner. The reduced palate was simple but nice – fresh (lemon sorbet) but with gentle ginger warmth following behind."
