Producer's Tasting Note

Finish: Long, dry and spicy. Adding some fruit became more spicy and persistent.
Ardbeg Supernova 2014
$176.39
We were shocked to be offered more stock of this malt, we sold out over a year ago. Bottled at 55%, and with just 72 additional bottles, they will not last!
From the Distillery: "Ardbeg’s first experiment in space has been slowly doing its thing for 3 long years. However, we predict excitement is set to gain momentum as we announce that the experiment is returning very soon and with it... a brand new limited edition Committee bottling of Ardbeg SUPERNOVA.
Distiller's Tasting Note:
"Aroma: Intense zestiness of smoked lemons and pears, lemongrass and pine needles, embedded in a deep, resinuous, sticky waxy base.
Taste: Distinctively peppery, spicy and electric. Powerful peppermint, antiseptic lozenges and other familiar, medicinal tones. Dark, dark birch tar intermingles with spicy-sweet chilli flavoured chocolate, while the entire mouth and palate are coated in luscious linseed oil.
Finish: Rich flavours of tar, creosote, briar wood, spicy tobacco and liquorice root."
Glenglassaugh Torfa
$74.99
Bottled at 50% without an age statement this youthful peated expression of Glenglassaugh matured in Ex-Bourbon. This was just the third official release of Glenglassaugh distilled and bottled since it reopened. It was featured on Day 15 of KWM Whisky Advent 2017.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: big, malty and savoury; a big hit of salted caramel, candied apply and brown sugar melting on warm homemade oatmeal; a touch of decadent spice and marmalade.
Palate: still big, brash and malty; there is a surge of tarry-oily-peat on the palate; Dutch licorice and salted caramel with dried orange peel and cloves; more decadent spice and marmalade; still sugary with more melting brown sugar.
Finish: clean, smoky and malty with more salted caramel.
Comment: I swear the recipe for this whisky is evolving as the maturing spirit at the distillery ages; it is richer, more complex and peatier than I recall; it also tastes a lot peatier than 20ppm!
Distillery's Tasting Note
NOSE: Vivid, sweet, sooty campfire smoke and sea air infuse zest of lime, apricot jam and ripe soft fruits, all gently warmed by hints of stem ginger and cracked black pepper.
PALATE: An eloquent, sweet coastal peat smoke engulfs candied peel over melon, pineapple and roasted red apples. Oat biscuits, hints of heather honey and a gentle cigar box spice all combine to give a terrific balance to the expressive smoky character.
FINISH: A heady, yet elegant harmony of distinct coastal peat and striking spiced fruit flavours.
Torfa is a new single malt from Glenglassaugh to be treasured and savoured in quiet moments.

90pts Serge of www.whiskyfun.org
"Comments: careful with water, a few drops work perfectly but too much water lets some dry tannins come out. Colour: light mahogany. Nose: this one's drier, more mineral, more austere. There's more dark chocolate, maybe a little raspberry jam, some Spanish ham, dried porcinis again, more chocolate, balsamic vinegar, even more chocolate. Finish: long, between chocolate and those herbs. Anyway, it's another superb sherried Glendronach."
The Whisky Agency Littlemill 1990

Serge Valentin Tasting Note: "Nose: an easier, rounder, fruitier Littlemill, well on oranges, lemons and tangerines. Fresh peaches, a little clay, vanilla and some minerality. Mouth: very good, with a little coconut, then mangos, oranges, tangerines and passion fruits. Creamy mouth fills. Finish: long, rather mentholated, grassy. – Serge Valentin. Kilkerran Work in Progress 7 Sherry
$67.49
The 7th annual release of Kikerran has again come in a pair, this one sherry matured and both at 46%. The Kilkerran single malt from Glengyle distillery is nearly 12 years of age, and we are on the final releases of the Work in Progress Series, batch 7. The Bourbon is also bottled at cask stength, a first! Very small quantities, these will not last long!
Distiller's Tasting Note
Nose: Toasted pink marshmallows spinning around fresh rhubarb and green apples. Toffee and treacle adds to the sweetness but an earthy note keeps this whisky well balanced and not overpoweringly sweet.
Palate: Heather honey and digestive biscuits. Creamy milk chocolate, black cherries mix with oak and wood spice. A truly complex and interesting dram.
Finish: Dry nutty finish with some gentle peat lingering along with some further oak notes… delicious.
Kilkerran Work in Progress 6 Sherry
$67.49
The 6th annual release of Kikerran has come in a pair, this one Bourbon matured and the other matured in sherry, both at 46%.
Kilkerran is the name of the single malt produced at the Glengyle distillery. The distillery was reopened to settle a grudge and earn Campbeltown its regional designation back.
Distiller's Tasting Note
Nose: Bold and Beautiful. Clear, but subtle, European red oak notes, a real sherry matured star.
Palate: The sherry notes goes deeper on the palate. Dark chocolate, dates, prunes, hard toffee, molasses and gingerbread syrup. Honey-BBQ coated ribs without any of the smoke.
Finish: This Whisky holds a great poise, almost ballerina like. There is a true harmonious balance between all the components in this dram. It has a seamless, resonant finish, echoing in a deep, loving, sherry tone.
