Laphroaig Cairdeas 2014

The Cairdeas for 2014 is a Laphroaig that has been double matured first in "first fill" ex-bourbon casks then in Amontillado hogsheads for one year. Bottled at 51.4%, the whisky was crafted by Master Distiller John Campbell. The name Cairdeas means "friendship" in Scots Gaelic.

Producer’s Tasting Note: “The Amontillado barrels give it a rich burnt orange colour. The nose starts off with dusty, gentle cinnamon hints and then distinctive lemon zest. This moves into earthy figs and dates before nutty, creamy brazil nuts come to the fore. This complex palate then changes with elements of carbolic soap before finally finishing with a lovely lingering salted liquorice note.”
