Roland Lavantureux Chablis 375ml
$29.99
This family began their adventure in Chablis as growers but that changed in 1979. Marine and Gervais began to sell the wines from the domaine in “feuilettes” (132-litre barrels, typical of Chablis) in Auxerre and Paris. Roland Lavanurteux was the first to bottle the wines in 1979 and it was at that moment that he gave his name to the domaine. Together with Brigitte, their parents then expanded the domaine from 5 hectares to 20 hectares and continued to develop the business in France and abroad. Since 2010, Arnaud and David have continued to write the domaine’s history with the enlargement of the cellar in 2012 in anticipation of the domaine’s new projects: Taking the reins of another family domaine (created by our maternal grandparents) in Bourgogne Epineul and Bourgogne Tonnerre. The first bottles from the 50+ year old vines were produced in 2020. They have also acquired new parcels in Chablis, notably in Chablis Premier Cru Vau de Vey.

Bachelder Chardonnay Le Villages Bench
$43.19
The wines of Thomas Bachelder are inspired by his spiritual home – Burgundy – where the grapes he loves (pinot noir, chardonnay, gamay noir) originally evolved, where even the tiniest of vineyards are kept scrupulously apart in the winery, and then put separately, lovingly, obsessively into small, individual bottlings. His goal is to “keep out of the way” and let the best parcels and the most harmonious barrels come forward to liberate and define small patches of Niagara land. It takes a long time to discover terroirs, but the journey has its rewards. Bachelder Les Villages Bench Chardonnay is sourced from two vineyards sites; Twenty Mile Bench and Beamsville Bench, both on the Niagara Escarpment. It showcases it's Burgundian spirit with its combination of vibrant acidity and minerality along with stone fruits and brioche.

His goal is to “keep out of the way” and let the best parcels and the most harmonious barrels come forward to liberate and define small patches of Niagara land. This is becoming a reference vineyard for Niagara, with steep stoney-silty clay and limestone soils. It's leans towards citrus and minerals with a long finish, capable of aging gracefully for another 10 years.
Dumangin Le Vintage Premier Cru 2010
$97.99
2010 Vintage. A grower-producer in the heart of Chigny-les-Rose, Giles Dumangin has champagne coursing through his veins. Dating back to the 1650s, the Dumangins have always worked with the vines of Champagne, but it wasn't until 1890 when Hippolyte Dumangin created Champagne Dumangin in the 1er Cru vineyards of Chigny-les-Roses. Five generations later, Champagne Dumangin is producing an array of champagnes, from their classic, feminine style to their newer, high-end cuvees. Their Vintage Cuvee is a blend of Chardonnay (54%) and Pinot Noir (46%), and with 9 years en tirage (on the yeast lees), the wine shows beautiful and elegant complexity. Expect notes of brioche, grilled almonds, blossom and lemon drops, with a bright acidity that extends the finish. Pair with fresh seafood, or simply enjoy as an aperitif. 2010 was a challenging vintage for the region, but Dumangin did some aggressive sorting and managed to deliver a lovely vintage wine.
