Rosier Rose Cremant Brut

In France, Crémant is the term used for sparkling wines made in the same method as Champagne but from outside of the actual Champagne region. The Rosier family left their native Champagne area, moved to Limoux and began making wine in January of 1982, full of hope and energy after purchasing a vineyard property in the village of Villelongue d’Aude. They began by restructuring the vineyard and took out all the old red Aramon vines to make way for Chardonnay, Chenin, Mauzac and Pinot Noir. Their first ‘cuvée’ was created in 1983, a scant production of 600 bottles. The following year 6000 bottles were produced under the ‘appellation’ Blanquette de Limoux. In 1985, they outgrew the space in Villelongue and moved to Limoux to larger premises and were able to increase production, thanks for the most part to our expansion into the American market. They now produce 650,000 bottles of Blanquette de Limoux and Crémant de Limoux in a specially designed, ultra-modern ‘Chai’ (wine production plant and storehouse) and have established a presence outside France in sixteen countries around the world.
This Cremant is made from a combination of 70% Chardonnay, 20% Chenin Blanc, and 10% Pinot Noir. Pairs with seafood, grilled or breaded calamari, and more.

In 2007 the brothers purchased their first 5 hectares of old vine Malbec vineyards. The original vineyard dates back to 1914. Over time they have built up to 25 hectares in total. Constantia Uitsig is located in what can be described as the "Cradle of winemaking" in the Cape and has a long history, being part of the first wine-producing estate in South Africa, dating back to the mid-1600s. Its unique position means that its vines benefit from the cool sea breezes, providing natural acidity and brilliant ageing ability, as well as Cape Town’s Mediterranean climate, with its rainy winters and long, dry summers. This position has made for the perfect grape growing conditions, with vines rooted in 200-million-year-old, well-composed, well-drained granite with a high clay content, ensuring excellent water retention. The wine features a complex nose that leads with tangerine and melon aromas underlined by a fresh minerality. Dominique Piron’s family has been growing grapes here since the 16th century, and Dominique took over the estate in 1971. Piron farms 45 hectares of vineyards scattered among several different crus in Beaujolais, namely Morgon, Chénas, Brouilly, Régnié and Moulin-à-Vent. He owns some parcels, rents others, and also buys 20 hectares worth of carefully selected grapes from their neighbours. Regardless of where the grapes are sourced, Piron is responsible for every aspect of quality control from the vineyard management to the marketing of the finished wine. They take such great care of each of their crus that even the simple Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages wines are carefully selected from single-vineyard parcels. Each of their terroirs is unique, yet they are all granite-based soils—the ideal grounding for the Gamay grape. Piron farms sustainably, although he has also been experimenting with organic methods to achieve a rich biodiversity in the vineyards.
