Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Pronounced orchard fruits and vanilla pod mingled with aromas of citrus peels and toasted nuts.
Palate: Sweet and creamy with layers of sugared almond and panna cotta followed with notes of dried apple, nutmeg and cocoa powder.
Finish: Perfectly balanced with creamy rice pudding and gentle cinnamon spices lingering long on the tongue.

"A new livery for the 15, it’s true that the former one was quite strange. Jim McEwan used to say this 15 was his favourite malt, after Bruichladdich of course (err, probably!) Colour: straw. Nose: it’s not that often than a 15 is a 10+5 years, if you see what I mean. Yeah, well, I mean that this one noses exactly like the 10 with five extra-years, that is to say with more vanilla, more spices (soft ones here) and a more refined fruitiness (added ripe strawberries here). The rest is similar (apples, lemon, wax, smoke.) Very nice. Mouth: exactly the same happens on the palate, all flavours playing louder this time. That means that it’s big whisky, full flavoured, interestingly citrusy and getting maybe just a tad too grassy/dry after a while. Quite some vanilla. Gets then funnily medicinal (no Laphroaig though), a tad camphory. Eucalyptus drops. Finish: long, still very zesty. Comments: more complexity in this one, a very entertaining profile. We like this one a lot, and it’s rather fairly priced. SGP:641 - 87 points."

Today, Adrianna blends her experience in academia with her passion for viticulture and winemaking, dividing her time between El Enemigo Wines and Catena Zapata. She lives between London and Mendoza, and California (she is also an ER doctor at San Fransisco's busiest hospital). Alejandro Vigil has been Chief Winemaker of Bodega Catena Zapata since 2002, receiving the first 100-point score awarded to a South American wine by Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate (CZ River Stones 2016), and the highest rating ever given to a pure Cabernet Franc (Gran Enemigo Gualtallary 2013). He also holds the first 100-point score for an Argentine Chardonnay from James Suckling (CZ White Bones 2018). This is El Enemigo.

Lindores Abbey Aqua Vitae

Lindores Abbey, now in ruins, is the site of the first reference to whisk(e)y. What exactly constituted whisky, or aqua vitae in the late 1400s is hard to ascertain, but it almost certainly involved the addition of botanicals and possibly fruit. Lindores Abbey Distillery's Aqua Vitaeis is an homage to this proto-whisky. This product is bottled at 40% and is made to be sipped neat or enjoyed with ginger ale.

"The earliest Aqua Vitae was made at Lindores as long ago as 1494, and we’ve authentically recreated that recipe and reimagined it as an inquisitively versatile spirit. Today, our own spirit is distilled in pot stills and then infused with a blend of spices and herbs, including cleavers, and sweet cicely, which grow in our gardens, amidst the grounds of the ancient Abbey. The champagnes from Marie-Courtin are truly something special. An ultra-fine, floating style with total fineness. Just delicate and so chic, yet absolutely unique in style thanks to uncompromising biodynamics. All her wines grow in a single plot of 2.5 hectares, which is also the total size of the domain that Marie Courtin founded in 2000. Because all her wines come from a single vineyard, she has decided to emphasize the differences in champagnes through vinification. There are wines matured in wood, amphorae, enamel tanks and one without sulphur. All come from the 2.5 hectares of single vineyard on the Kimmeridge marl soil of the Soden, on the Côte des Bar. Winemaker Dominique Moreau, who named the estate after her grandmother, is a master of purism. Her champagnes, yesterday's entry, so to speak, are flooded with light, delicate and elegant, they always possess a suppleness and a high degree of drinking pleasure.

Brut Efflorescence (100% Pinot Noir) is at first rather cool and inward, then explodes on the palate with great intensity. It is a fabulous wine endowed with tons of persistence and sheer energy. The aromas and flavors build towards the rich, generous finish. The winery is named after Moreau's grandmother Marie Courtin.
