A limited edition relase of Tomintoul single malt, Seiridh is pronounced “sheh-ree” which is the Gaelic word for Sherry. Matured in American Oak Bourbon casks before being finished in specially selected Oloroso Sherry butts from Jerez in Andalucia, Spain. 40%.

Nose: Rich and inviting with aromas of sultana, butterscotch and candied pecans.
Palate: Sweet and luscious with layers of dried figs and Christmas cake highlighted with touches of cedar spice.
Finish: Warm, nutty and long with notes of chocolate covered raisins, dried fruits and hints of liquorice that fade into a woody linger.

The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Year has returned to Canada for the first time in what seems like a decade. It is limited, and it might be a while until we see it again. Matured exclusively in hand-picked, sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, Spain. 43%. It has also taken our Scotch Guy by surprise, exceeding his expectations.

Cognac Cask Finish. Might be intriguing! Shame about the 40%, though. These accountant-strength bottlings that Tomintoul and owners Angus Dundee seem to be enamoured with could use a slight shift upwards. No need to make "The Gentle Dram" too gentle.
