Wild Life Rye Whisky 750ml
$72.89
From the Distillery
"Rye is the quintessential Canadian Whisky grain. This flavour forward grain is often hidden and under represented in the big brand rye whiskies on the market. Wild Life Rye Whisky on the other hand, does not shy away from flavour. This spirit shows wonderful notes of nutmeg, fig, green grass and spice notes. This is Alberta Craft Whisky at it's finest, and we are pleased to share it with you!
Wild Life Rye Whisky is made 100% from locally grown grains. It was milled, mashed, fermented, distilled and aged at Wild Life Distillery, in Canmore, Alberta; the first rye whisky to be made in Canmore!"

Redbreast Cask Strength Irish Whiskey
$112.49
This is the cask strength version of Redbreast 12 Year. This single or pure pot still Irish whiskey is triple distilled from a mash of malted and unmalted barley.
What is Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey you ask? It is whiskey made using a combination of malted and unmalted barley. Why do this you ask? Why, to dodge taxes, of course! The Malt Tax came into being in Ireland for a short time starting in 1785, enforced by the (insert expletive said in your best Irish accent here) English. The Irish, being Irish, decided that they didn't need to use malted barley for the entirety of the mash used to distill whiskey and started adding portions of unmalted barley. Necessity being the mother of invention, this eventually became a legitimate style of whiskey-making that is now not just celebrated but codified into law in Ireland with the Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey classification.
Producer Description
"Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and then triple distilled in copper pot stills, Redbreast 12 boasts the flavour complexity and distinctive qualities of Pot Still whiskey. Matured in a combination of Bourbon seasoned American Oak barrels and Oloroso Sherry seasoned Spanish oak butts, the distinctive Redbreast sherry style is a joy to behold in each and every bottle. The Cask Strength expression gives a glimpse of Redbreast 12 in its natural, full flavoured taste."
Boutique-y 21 Year Irish Whiskey
$166.49
This 21 year old Irish Whiskey from That Boutique-y Whisky Company is part of their core range. Although some sources indicate it is a Blended Irish Whiskey, the image on the label is a Connemara Pony... so could this be from Cooley Distillery?! Bottled at 45.8% from Bourbon & Sherry Casks.
Producer Description
"Galloping toward your gullet, here comes our lovely horse (It’s a Connemara Pony).
"This is an extraordinary Irish Whiskey, aged to perfection over 21 years in a delightful marriage of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. It delivers an elegant symphony of honeyed malt, dried fruits, and toasted oak, with undertones of dark chocolate, fig, and baking spices. A small batch release of circa 1,000 litres each time. Non chill-filtered, and natural cask matured colour."
Boann Madeira Cask Irish Whiskey
$88.19
Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey initially matured in ex-Bourbon before finishing in Madeira casks. 47%
Producer Description
"Initially, matured in ex-Bourbon Barrels from the famed Brown Forman of Kentucky and made from American Oak 200ltr (Quercus Alba) with a heavy charring. We filled these casks with a mixed mash bill Single Pot Still distillate which included malted barley, unmalted barley, oats and rye. All of these grains are Irish and grown locally.
"In collaboration with the famous Madeira house, Justino’s, we sourced some of their finest vintage Madeira casks of Tinta Negro (1998 & 2000), Boal (1999) and Sercial (1999, 2000 & 2006) Madeira Colheita wine single varietals. We were able to access these casks from a friendship that has flourished from a previous special collaboration. The wines have been fortified and undergone the canteiro process where the wine is barrel aged with naturally high temperatures in the barrel storage room, replicating the sea voyage maritime aging of the past on Portugal galleons of the medieval ages.
"All casks were formally 350ltr Cognac casks made from (Quercus Robur) French Oak. These Madeira wines ranged from Sweet to Medium to Dry, offering a wide depth and breadth of the terroir of the volcanic island of Madeira.
"The label design of this expression talks about water which is a vital ingredient when making whiskey. This is also a nod to the flowing waters of the Boyne River as well as the North Atlantic Ocean surrounding the Madeira Islands."
MoM Blackwater 3 Year
$116.99
This 3 year old Irish single malt from Blackwater Distillery was bottled at 55% from an ex-Bourbon Cask.
Producer Description
"If the name Peter Mulryan means nothing to you, then have a sip of this and you’ll be searching his name online in no time, wondering WTF!? Familiar with Peter Mulryan? Then you’ve probably already snagged one of these.
"It’s insane. Insanely rare. Insanely important. Insanely good. Scotch whisky often talks about “history in a glass”, and this Irish whiskey from one of the industry’s most innovative traditionalists is most worthy of that claim."
White Heather 15 Year
$119.99
This Blended Scotch whisky is composed of single malts from the Speyside, Islay, and Northern Highlands, blended with grain whisky. The spirits initially matured in American oak and Sherry Buts, before being Billy Walkered (re-racked) into PX and Oloroso Puncheons as well as some Virgin American oak, for a finishing period. The whiskies were then blended back together and bottled at 46%.
Compass Box Celestial
$434.99
This is the fourth and final release in the Compass Box Extinct Blends Quartet, which celebrates - or laments - the blends of decades' past which are no longer available. Celestial draws on peated whisky from Ardbeg and Caol Ila, which are always good malts to build around. Malt from Pulteney and grain from Port Dundas and Cameronbridge are also in the mix along with prior Compass Box blends and other assorted magic, courtesy of Blender James Saxon. Bottled at 51%.
Producer Description
"Our latest and last in the Extinct Blends Quartet Celestial takes to the sky through billowing clouds and glittering constellations, inspired by a whisky from the 1960s with both an extravagant flavour profile and an equine theme. The peatiest of the Extinct Blends Quartet, and our most expansive, Celestial offers a depth of flavour and maturity that has become the series’ hallmark.
Celestial accentuates the smokiness of its forebear, drawing on malt whiskies from the Ardbeg and Caol Ila distilleries, two parcels we previously brought together six years ago for the original No Name."
Compass Box Peat Monster 750mL
$104.99
For those who love big, rich, peaty and smoky malt whiskies, this is your whiskey. Bottled at 46%, The Peat Monster combines extremely smoky malt whisky from Islay with medium-peated Highland whiskies to create a balanced and approachable monster, but a monster, nonetheless. Enjoy!
The Peat Monster was featured in Day 3 of our 2018 KWM Whisky Advent Calendar.
Producer Description
"For 2019, The Peat Monster has a new label. Featuring this quite marvellous specially-commissioned painting, all batches released going forward will showcase the new artwork. It isn’t just the packaging that is different, however: the recipe has evolved, too.
Still very much the whisky for those who love big, rich, smoky-peaty malts, our latest version of THE PEAT MONSTER is older and more elegant than before.
"Inspired by feedback from smoky whisky lovers, our new Painting Label of THE PEAT MONSTER incorporates single malts with a more aromatic and graceful style of smokiness. We have sought to retain the peaty intensity for which THE PEAT MONSTER has long been celebrated, whilst creating a depth and elegance not seen before."
