The Sanaig is part of Kilchoman's regular release lineup along with the Machir Bay. Kilchoman Sanaig, which is named after an Inlet off the NorthWest coast of Islay, is made from a combination of about 20% ex-Bourbon casks and 80% ex-Sherry Casks - mostly Oloroso Sherry in style. We have noticed the colour on this dram has gotten a fair bit darker over the past few years - possibly due to more first-fill ex-Sherry casks being used... Bottled at 46%.

We are only expecting 60ish bottles of the Daftmill 15 Year Fife Strength release. Distilled in 2009, the whisky was bottled in 2024 at 56.3% from nineteen First Fill ex-Bourbon casks and one ex-PX Sherry cask. 88.24pts Whiskybase / Limit 1 Per Customer!
Producer Description
"The malt used to make this whisky is from the barley variety Optic. A variety that went on to become the mainstay for the Scotch whisky industry for several years. The thirteen casks in this bottling are all first fill ex bourbon barrels distilled in January or August 2007. They were matured in the upper level of the warehouse before being bottled in July 2023 at the traditional Fife strength."

Gilles Dumangin doesn't make things easy on himself when he wraps his whiskies in wine. He has a habit of stacking the deck against himself by picking distilleries that boast some of the most challenging profiles in all of Scotch Whisky: Benrinnes, Ardmore, Fettercairn, Craigellachie. These aren't exactly the most mild-mannered of malts. It's a testament to the man's craft. I love the whole 'if you're going to swing, swing for the fences' mentality.
This Benrinnes spent 10 years in a Refill Hogshead before 23 months in Ratafia Champenois.

Arran 25 Year

The 25-year-old Arran is now part of the Lochranza Distillery's core range, though a very limited part of it. Currently an annual release, only 3000 bottles are available world-wide. It was matured in a combination of ex-Sherry and Ex-Bourbon casks which were filled in the distillery's first few years of operation. 46% ABV. We have a mix of 2023 and 2024 botltings. Mostly the latter.

Is it a coincidence we bottled two Gordon & MacPhail Glentauchers casks in a year? Yes, but it shouldn't be all that surprising... seeing as they are bottling some of the best whisky from the distillery. This 2000 vintage was matured 23 years in a First Fill Sherry Hogshead. We were blown away by this old-school dumpy, sherried single malt... its' a very cool dram!

This is our 6th KWM exclusive cask of Benromach, and the 4th since the move to the new packaging. More precisely it is our 3rd from the early 2000s, and it is yet another Brora-esque twenty-somthing Benromach with creamy smoke and tropical fruits. Matured in a First Fill ex-Bourbon Barrel for 21 years before bottling at 57.9%. Only 179 bottles!

This is the oldest Caol Ila cask we have ever had the privilege of bottling. Distilled in 2002, the whisky was matured 22 years in a First Fill ex-Bourbon Barrel, Cask No. 8384, before bottling at 55.2%. 177 total bottles!
