The 25-year-old Arran is now part of the Lochranza Distillery's core range, though a very limited part of it. Currently an annual release, only 3000 bottles are available world-wide. It was matured in a combination of ex-Sherry and Ex-Bourbon casks which were filled in the distillery's first few years of operation. 46% ABV.

Nose: Rich oak with a gentle nutmeg note. Sweeter aromas of baked ripe figs, sultanas and black cherries.
Palate: Fruit cake with toasted almonds and cinnamon. The juicy zestiness of oranges and mandarins mellows perfectly with manuka honey, muscovado sugar, baked apricots and an interesting white pepper note that provides even more complexity.
Finish: Creamy and spicy with dark chocolate, walnuts and dark fruits compote.

The latest 25 year old offering from the venerable Balvenie Distillery also comes with a brand new, slightly higher price. Though not too high, at least. This quarter century single malt has been carefully put together by the legendary David Stewart. Bottled at 48%.

"To craft The Balvenie Twenty-Five, David carefully chose some of The Balvenie’s rarest Traditional American and European Oak casks to create the special tasting profiles designed for the range. These single malt whiskies had matured for twenty-five years and were handpicked to complete the layers of flavor envisioned.
