"We use the finest quality oak casks to age ABERFELDY. Harnessing four types of cask: first fill Sherry, first fill Bourbon, refill and rechar, we craft a RICH, ROUND AND INDULGENT dram. ABERFELDY is a CLASSIC HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT with signature soft, honeyed fruity notes, gentle spice and a malty backbone. Initially matured in a combination of refill casks, the whisky is then finished for over a year in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks."

Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Highland honey, wild strawberries, peach, marmalade, honeycomb, beeswax, and a whisper of cocoa powder, vanilla coffee, and freshly sawn oak.
Palate: Creamy caramel, warming cinnamon, malty cereal base, dark toffee, orange peel, candied ginger, and gentle baking spices.
Finish: Long and smooth with lingering cinnamon spice, subtle dark roast coffee, and gentle oak tannins.

Well, look who's back? This little gem is starting to become a perennial favourite, and for good reason: it's absolutely killer whisky at an inexplicably low price point! According to the folks at Dewar's, this has "been aged, blended together, aged again, then finished in sherry casks."
There is no overstating how cool it is that they have given us a blend with a high age statement and a robust bottling strength. Way to step into the spotlight, Dewar's. Well done.

In terms of age statements at least, the 21-year-old sits at the apex of the Aberfeldy family. It's no geriatric, to be sure, but a couple decades in oak has put this one firmly in beautiful, mature whisky territory. If we're being honest though, 40% seems a bit scrawny by today's standards. Despite that wee hangup, it's hard to argue that the flavour isn't spectacular. And if we're continuing with this whole honesty thing, the simple reality is that some whiskies are going to be a bit lighter (read: lower alcohol) but are still absolutely deserving of attention on the merits of intrinsic quality. This is just such a one.

It's back! It has been years since we last had this beauty in the market, and we are thrilled to have it back. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks before bottling at 46%. It typically scores in the 88-90pt range on Whiskybase. Serge gave the 2023 bottling 91pts!

The 25-year-old Arran is now part of the Lochranza Distillery's core range, though a very limited part of it. Currently an annual release, only 3000 bottles are available world-wide. It was matured in a combination of ex-Sherry and Ex-Bourbon casks which were filled in the distillery's first few years of operation. 46% ABV. We have a mix of 2023 and 2024 botltings. Mostly the latter.
