The Glenfarclas 105 was introduced more than 50 years ago, back in 1968. It was the first small batch, cask strength Single Malt Whisky released by a distillery. Like everything that Glenfarclas Distillery releases, the whisky within the 105 was matured entirely in ex-sherry casks. No age statement is given on the bottles, but my guess is we are looking at a whisky that is between 7-10 years old. And of course, it is bottled at a bracing 60% ABV or 105 British proof - hence the name. Pour a bit into your glass and it a taste!
Ardbeg Uigeadail

This Ardbeg, pronounced (pronounced ‘Oog-a-dal’), is a mariage of ex-Bourbon and ex-sherry casks. It takes it's name from the mysterious Loch that also happens to be Ardbeg Distillery's water source. It is bottled at 54.2%, but is still very approachable and savoury with the melding of sherry notes to Ardbeg's classic style.

Dalmore is located in the Northern Highlands of Scotland on the Firth of Cromarty. It gazes accross at the Black Isle, a peninsula with some of the most fertile soil in the UK. Dalmore was converted into a sea-mine factory in WWI by the US Navy who built the long "Yankey Pier" which still juts out into the firth. The distillery is the jewel in the crown of Whyte and MacKay.

Kadhambam means ‘mixture’ or ‘combination’, and this Amrut certainly lives up to its name: a vatting of normal and peated Amrut that started life in ex-oloroso casks before being transferred first into brandy casks, then into rum casks (both the rum and brandy having been produced at Amrut also). A curious mixture, this is a unique and thrilling whisky.
Edradour 12 Year Caledonia

Caledonia, in addition to be an archaic name for Scotland, is also the name of a popular folk song published by Dougie MacLean in 1979. Originally selected as a single cask by Dougie MacLean to celebrate Homecoming Scotland in 2009, the whisky has been adopted as a permanent addition to the Edraour line. The whisky has been matured at least four years in Oloroso sherry and is very chewy and fruity.

The Corryvreckan started out as a replacement for the Airigh Nam Beist but has become a legend in its own right. The whisky has a unique sweet and spicy twist which blends well with the whisky's peaty maritime backbone. Bottled at 57.1% this whisky is often amongst the highest scoring with whisky critics and reviewers. It gets its sweet and spicy characteristics from the French oak in which some of the vatting is matured.
