Ichiro’s grandfather owned the famed Hanyu Distillery, which closed in 2000. Ichiro then took possession of all the whisky stocks left behind in the Hanyu distillery and used them in the blending production of the world famous Ichiro’s Malt Card Series. Chichibu whiskies are much in demand globally due to limited production and award winning quality. Ichiro Akuto is revered globally as a master craft distiller, producing some of Japan’s best whiskies today. A marriage of single malts from Chichibu and Hanyu distilleries. This expression marries sweetness and firmness. Malts from Chichibu's Mizunara oak and malts from Hanyu's Sherry cask Hogshead barrels impart these special characteristics to this limited expression whisky."
