Lopez Heredia Tondonia Gr. Reserva White
$289.99
*** LIMIT OF 1 PER PERSON OR HOUSEHOLD
For 148 years, four generations of the López de Heredia family have devoted themselves to producing exceptional wines. The wines are viniferous masterpieces which have fulfilled the vision of the founder, Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta, wines that came to be defined in the late nineteenth century as the "Supreme Rioja". Vineyard care, a scrupulous selection of grapes, ageing in oak barrels in the heart of deep underground caves, and the later ageing in bottles, all contribute to making these illustrious wines with their exceptional aromas and complex array of flavours. This is from the winery:
"Special mention ought to be made of our white wines. If there is one bodega experienced in producing old white wines, it has to be López de Heredia. To talk in our bodega of white wines being exclusively young and uncomplicated would be asking for trouble. We have never been averse to ageing white wines in oak for as long as reds, and the result is much more surprising than might be expected. When this type of wine has spent a long time in contact with oak, the oaky tastes and aromas are overly noticeable and even unbalanced. Nevertheless, when left for a few more years in bottles, the rough edges of oak become sufficiently polished and balanced to create a seductive bouquet of spice, bitter almonds, vanilla and walnut, trademarks of the majestic and opulent Viña Tondonia whites."
Oban 10 Year Special Release 2024
$179.99
Oban has long been one of the most recognizable yet underrepresented distilleries in Scotland. The distillate is ridiculously good, but the range of available expressions has been severely lacking. And indie versions? Fuhgeddaboudid. Needless to say, this is high on our list of things marked as 'must try.'
Producer Note
"Like the tiniest of seeds, Oban Distillery is one of Scotland’s smallest distilleries whose illustrious whiskies thrive with imposing character. This 10-year-old expression is matured in refill casks, before being selectively finished in newly charred American Oak barrels, freshly seasoned with Oloroso sherry, imparting baked apple notes and subtle wisps of sea salted vanilla. Charred oak heightens an enchanting fragrance: a bouquet of spiced nutmeg, sweet cinnamon and hints of clove. Verdant, lush and gorgeously aromatic, Oban Distillery is the lively heart of its coastal town home. Experience its blossom in full bloom."

Talisker 8 Year Special Release 2024
$121.99
"Finished in stone-spun and lightly re-toasted casks." What does that even mean? To say we're curious doesn't even begin to cover it.
Producer Note
"For this 8-year-old expression, plunge into oceanic wilderness. A world of flavour lies beneath that signature maritime smoke. Experience the underlying notes unleashed by stone-spun casks. Like a tidal churn, the barrels’ original char layers are polished away by rocks and water, then lightly re-toasted, allowing fruity and vanilla characters to rise up freely. Selected from whiskies of rumbling smoke, underlying flavours pierce through. Waves of pear and apple emerge alongside blades of seaweed, pepper and spice."
