Aecht Schlenkerla Erle Schwarzbier
$6.19
Producer's notes:
For our Aecht Schlenkerla Erle black lager we use a very special smoked malt. This is not dried over beech wood fire, as is usually the case, but over fire made of alder wood. The alder smoked malt brings a fine, complex smoky flavor to the beer – less strong and spicy than in our classic smoked beer. A high roasted malt content provides a pronounced roasted aroma and the dark, almost black color. At 4.2% abv, Aecht Schlenkerla Erle has slightly less alcohol, but is strong in flavor.

The distillery bills itself as one of Scotland's smallest, focused more of flavour than yeild. The whisky has been bottled at 50% after maturing in a mix of Bourbon, Sherry, and Virgin oak casks for an average of 7 years.
About Strathmill (Producer Description)
"Located in Highland Perthshire, an area with a rich Whisky distilling heritage owing to its spectacular landscape and freshwater lochs, Strathearn Distillery is sited on the outskirts of Perth, the first capital of Scotland, close to where Scottish kings were traditionally crowned on the legendary stone of destiny. A fitting location for a distillery producing a Single Malt Scotch Whisky of the utmost quality, refinement and character.
"Prioritising flavour over alcohol yield, Strathearn is one of, if not the only distillery to still use Maris Otter Malt, which produces a deliciously creamy, malty new-make spirit. Crafted to perfection, our spirit is matured in the finest casks, from which it takes on an immensely rich and refined flavour, from small acorns..."
