This independant bottled rum is brought to us by bottling newcomer Bira! by 77 spirits. Founder and friend of the store Karl Mudzamba selects the rums with his wife, and releases them to a only a couple of thirsty provinces.
This is from South African distillery Mhoba and is matured in ex bourbon barrels. They make non-agricole cane juice rums of several marks including long fermentations and the use of dunder(dunder is not used in this expression).

One of the first official releases from the new distillery carrying the Teeling family name is this Single Pot Still offering. It is made from a combination of 50/50 malted to unmalted barley and bottled at 46% after maturing in a combination of virgin American oak, ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks.
What is Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey you ask? It is whiskey made using a combination of malted and unmalted barley. Why do this you ask? Why, to dodge unfair taxation, of course! The Malt Tax came into being in Ireland for a short time starting in 1785, enforced by the (insert expletive said in your best Irish accent here) English. The Irish, being Irish, decided that they didn't need to use malted barley for the entirety of the mash used to distill whiskey and started adding portions of unmalted barley. Necessity being the mother of invention, this eventually became a legitimate style of whiskey-making that is now not just celebrated but codified into law in Ireland with the Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey classification.

By aging Cincoro Blanco in these barrels, we highlight the smoothness of our Blanco, complimented by wood notes from aging 8-10 months in an underground cellar, considerably longer than the minimum 2 months required for Reposado. On the nose Cincoro Reposado has amazing notes of vanilla, baking spices, and toasted oak. On the palate, sweet cooked agave, caramel, white chocolate."
