This was our first ever single cask bottling for Kensington Wine Market, a cask strength 46 year old Strathisla so dark you couldn't see through it... and it threw a sediment. Cask 2543, a Refill Sherry Hogshead, was filled on the 19th of November in 1960, resting 46 years at Gordon & MacPhail's warehouse in Elgin before bottling at 46 years and am impressive strength of 58.2%.

Bowmore Distillery is the flagship brand of Morrison Bowmore (who also own Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch). Morrison Bowmore was purchased by Suntory of Japan in 1994. Nose: Creamy caramel toffee, with ripe fruit and smoke aromas. Palate: Incredibly complex, with beautiful soft fruit and chocolate balanced with a light smokiness. Finish: long and wonderfully balanced.

Rosebank distillery founded just north west of Edinburgh in the Lowlands of Scotland opened its doors for the first time in 1798. At the time of its closing in June of 1993 it was one of only two distilleries in Scotland that practiced tripple distillation. It's owner's, Diageo, closed Rosebank down in favour of another Lowland distillery, Glenkinchie. Glenkinchie was selected over Rosebank to represent the Lowlands in Diageo's "Classic Malts" because its name sounded more Scottish!

Three different vintages have come together to create this bottling, a vatting of casks from: 1965, 1970 and 1972. The bottle and tin are decorated with a reproduction of Frances MacDonald's painting, "Evening Surf, Kintyre". On the palate the whisky is very creamy, with vanilla, banana, apricot and creme caramel. As the flavours evolve marzipan, maple syrup, almonds, cinnamon and butter scotch appear. Pear and mint arrive late in the finish.
