Only 12 miles from Glasgow, and although a Highland by definition, these whiskies are known for a more Lowland style due to the use of unpeated malt. Also unique is the choice of sherry used for cask finishing. Instead of the more common oloroso wood, Glengoyne uses predominately palo cortado, resulting in more nutty flavors. This version has a light nose, is creamy smooth with notes of vanilla.

Founded by Irish refugees on the outskirts of Glasgow in 1823, the Auchentoshan distillery has now been enveloped by the town as it has grown. The distillery's water comes from the Highlands some 40 kilometres away. In front of the distillery, a cooling pond was created by a Nazi bomb during the Second World War. A classic version of a Lowland malt, and the classic expression of Auchentoshan! Smooth and oily with notes of orange peel and spice. More oak character with a rounded and aromatic finish.
