Old Pulteney 15 Year
$113.99
This bottle was featured on Day 21 of our 2023 KWM Whisky Calendar. You can read the post on it here.
Part of the new Old Pulteney range released late in 2018, the 15-year-old is matured in both Ex-Bourbon & Ex-Sherry and is bottled at 46%.
Producer Description
"Matured for 15 years, this is our most balanced and smooth single malt. Balancing two different sides of the flavour spectrum, this single malt marries these perfectly, whilst also reflecting our coastal home and its unwavering influence.
On one hand, this is an intense single malt, yet at the same time, it is truly balanced.
Spice and sweetness unite in this naturally rich amber whisky to celebrate rich flavours, yet lighter, more refreshing coastal notes show another side of this single malt."
Bunnahabhain 25 Year
$359.99
1 Per Customer - This is the old bottling of Bunna 25, we are expecting a big price increase when the new bottling is rolled out based on pricing we are seeing in the US and some parts of Europe.
Finally back in stock, but sadly we do have to limit to 1 per customer! Demand for Islay's sleeper distillery has been outrageous lately - deservedly so - but it does mean we have to try to spread the wealth a wee bit.
Bunna 25 (or XXV, if you're hung on what the labels say) is an icon. It is unquestionably one of the most rich and elegant 25s on the market. Expect that salty oceanic tang we all know and love, but at the same time expect it to be well-tempered with gorgeous old sherry and deep fruitcake notes. While 'fruitcake' is a bit of a cheat when it comes to tasting notes, it's hard to argue in this case. And man...what a mouthfeel.
Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Scents of rich sherry, blossoming into sweet caramel and polished leather.
Palate: An initial taste of sweet berries and cream that evolves into a feast of roasted nuts and malt.
Finish: Soft and dry with a delicate hint of sweet sugar and spiced oak that linger long on the tongue.
Revel Cider Time and Place
$5.99
"Time and Place is the purest expression of the native yeasts in our cidery and on our fruit. It is bright and tart, a blend of apple and wild yeast acidity. Long ageing on tannic apple pomace coaxes out quiet tannins and ripe orchard aromatics. Restrained yet elegant, it is the cider we've always wanted to make."
Casamigos Mezcal
$97.99
The Casamigos Mezcal joins the company's Tequila staple as a regular part of their line up. It is made form 100% Espadin Agave that has been smoked underground in earthen pits for 4-6 days. The pinas cooled then crushed by a traditional horse-powered tahona wheel. After that it is fermented, then distilled using copper pot stills. Bottled at 40%.
Casamigos started its life as a Tequila brand created by long time friends George Clooney (yes, THAT George Clooney) and Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman in 2013. It was sold to Diageo in 2017 for between 500 million and 1 billion dollars.
Knob Creek Cask Strength Rye
$107.99
Like Knob Creek Bourbon, the Knob Creek Rye is distilled at Jim Beam distillery which is located in Clermont, Kentucky. As a Kentucky Straight Rye, the mash bill has to consist of at least 51% Rye grain and be primarily aged in Virgin Oak barrels for at least four years, unless a lesser age is stated on the bottle. Bottled at 59.8%.
Driftwood- White Bark Witbier 4-Pack
$16.49
This traditional Belgian-style wheat ale is brewed with the addition of freshly ground coriander and curacao orange peel. Hops are outshone by the wonderful floral aromas that dominate the nose of this dry and quaffable beer.
Protos Verdejo
$24.99
Verdejo is effectively unique to Spain, and specifically to the Rueda region. It's dominated by citrus flavours that include lemon/lime and grapefruit, along a hint of salinity and a pleasant almond note that often develops after a few years in bottle. This one is aged on it's lees for 3 months, all in stainless steel tanks. It's a brilliant seafood wine, particularly with delicate white fish and the bivalve family (oysters, mussels, clams).
Protos Reserva
$59.99
Things start to get serious in this range. It's produced from south facing vineyards in the Burgos Province from 50-year-old vines and aged in French and American barrels for 18 months. It spends two years in bottle prior to release. There's some grip to this wine along with dark red fruits, spice and minerality, and ideal companion to roasted meats and game. Decanting is recommended.
Last Best IPA 6pk
$18.99
I'd call this the original Calgary IPA. Funny how we didn't really have one until 2014/2015 or so. This was "new-school" at the time, though with the softer styles being more prominent now, this one falls towards "old-school" it seems, with big west-coast style malts and a sticky bitter finish. Very fruity though, and quite delicious!
