Region:Australia > Margaret River
Vintage:2019
The Margaret River region is considered one of Australia’s top areas for premium winemaking, and one of the early pioneers from the region has been Moss Wood, founded in 1969. For over four decades, the winery has been run by Clare & Keith Mugford who have pursued a philosophy of showcasing the region’s stunning maritime climate. Their powerful wines - especially their Cabernets - age extremely well and have a cult following in Australia and beyond. This Pinot Noir is no slouch either, showing intense berry notes and a medium body carefully balanced by a bright streak of acidity and a pure, clean finish. On the nose, there are lifted notes of sour cherries, strawberry jam, roses and dried herbs followed by notes of wild berries, cassis and gentle hints of toasty oak and spice. The 2019 Vintage of the Moss Wood Pinot Noir spent 19 months ageing in French oak barrels, with 10% of them being new.
