Fabien's family has been farming in their village of Causse for generations. After embarking on life as a winemaker in 2006, he set up shop on the highest slopes of Cahors looking to make the vibrant wines he loved drinking. The property is farmed as an ecosystem with horse-plowing, bees, grains, and some very cute pigs! These wines are full of life, but classically delicious enough to trick your conservative friends into loving. His Fabien Jouves Skin Contact Maceration is a blend of the three varieties Ugni Blanc, Gros Manseng and Muscat of Alexandria grown on small plots of land without using any chemical products that could damage the natural balance of the terroir.

The heart of Clos Cibonne is their traditional, goblet-trained tibouren, which is believed to be a very old grape variety, originally grown in Mesopotamia, propagated by the Greeks, before being transported by the Romans to Italy in the Liguria region, where it is known as rossese. Tibouren is a very fine, thin-skinned grape which requires a lot of ventilation to be successful and needs to grow close to the ocean, with lots of ventilation to be successful and avoid issues with rot. All of these requirements make Clos Cibonne the perfect terroir for tibouren, as they are walking distance to the ocean and constantly blasted with the drying winds from the mistral. André Roux, the architect of the modern winery, was a great fan of this native variety and understood its potential to be the ideal grape for the region. It is one of the most expressive rose wines on the planet, and is rivalled only by Domaine Tempier in our opinion.

This is a white blend from Fabien Jouves who works on several plots of certified (Demeter/Biodyvin) biodynamic vines between the towns of Quercy and Cahors in the southern French region of Occitanie. A lip-smacking delight of a white blend displaying Meyer lemon stone fruits and white flowers with a honeyed flair. Bone-dry and with a zippy acidity. It's a blend of Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Chardonnay and Sémillon, a natural wine minus the funk and floating goo found in some of the naturals out there.
