Rochefort is actually known as Notre-Dame de Saint-Remy and is located neat the southern town of Rochefort. This monestary began brewing in 1595. Their 3 beers are ale dark and fairly sweet ales. #8 is the strong version of a brown ale. Pours solid dark brown, small off-white head with a bit of sediment. Aromas of caramel malts, a little yeast and dark fruits of raisins, dates and prunes.
