A dark strong ale or Quadrupel. Dark colour, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities. There are 7 Trappist breweries in the world, 6 in in Belgium. They are Westmalle, Westvleteren, Chimay, Rochefort, Orval and Achel. No other breweries are entitled by law to apply that name to their product. Rochefort, actually known as Notre-Dame de Saint-Remy, is located neat the southern town of Rochefort and began brewing in 1595.

Guinness is an Irish dry stout that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness and is based on the porter style that originated in London in the early 20th century. It's one of the most successful beer brands worldwide. A distinctive feature is the burnt flavour which is derived from the use of roasted barley. The thick creamy head is the result of the beer being mixed with nitrogen when being poured.
