The MacIntyre family purchased the property in 2001. Although the beginnings were humble, the promising craft of a young winemaker inspired the MacIntyres to invest extensively and pour their hearts into this wild venture. Lake Breeze is undeniably one of the most beautiful wineries in British Columbia. They honour the sense of place, the land and pride in agriculture, through careful and meticulous viticultural practices. They and their family of growers on the Naramata Bench produce exceptional fruit from which we create our portfolio of fine wines. From Becker: As was typical of the southern Palatinate region, our family has run a mixed-use farm for many generations, with vineyards, some animals, a still and apple, pear, plum, cherry and Mirabelle trees. In the middle of the 20th century, it became apparent that our soils and slopes at the edge of the Palatinate Forest offered excellent growing conditions for outstanding wines. Ben Stewart is part of the third generation of a pioneering Okanagan farming family. He left a successful banking profession in 1979 to become general manager of both Quails' Gate and Boucherie Mountain Vineyards.
