This Guyanese Rum, is a blend of 1990 Enmore (40%) & 1990 Uitvlugt (60%), married 10 Months in a Rum Cask before bottling at 53.2%.

"This is one of two Decadent Drams web exclusive rum bottlings this month. This is a 32 year old, blended Guyana rum. We secured some small amounts of continentally aged 1990 Enmore (40%) and 1990 Uitvlugt (60%) that were stored out of cask. We decided to marry these together in an old refill rum barrel for around ten months and then bottled that mix at natural marrying strength. The result is a beautiful and pure example of the mature Guyana pot-distilled style: full of breads, medicines, seawater and pickles."

Bottled for Heads& Tails at 51.7% by The Whisky Agency, this rum from Demerara Distillery's Port Mourant stills in Guyana was ditilled in 2002. The Port Mourant style made by Demerara Distillers uses old double wooden pot stills. The style was originated by Albion distlllery which used a long gone wooden Coffey stiil. Albion Disitllery shut down in 1968.

There are a lot of great rum distilleries out there. Diamond Distillery in Guyana is one that is most often mentioned by rum lovers as one of the best. It is most well-known for its official rum bottlings with the El Dorado name, but there are often really good small batch and single cask offerings from independent bottlers available as well.

This single cask rum was bottled by the Rest & Be Thankful rum company. This Monymusk (distilled at Clarendon) rum bears the MMW marque, meaning Monymusk Wedderburn, and it's one of the higher ester marques to bear the Monymusk name.
