Bottled to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Heads & Tails, this 18 year old Sideburn (aka Burnside [aka teaspooned Balvenie]) was distilled in 2007, and bottled at 56.3% from a First Fill ex-Bourbon Barrel.

"This 'Sideburn' blended malt Scotch whisky was distilled in 2007 and filled into cask as Burnside from William Grant & Sons. It has matured ever since in a single 1st fill Bourbon barrel for 18 years, before we bottled it at natural cask strength as this celebratory Decadent Drams release exclusively for the 10th anniversary of Heads & Tails. Congratulations Igor! Here's to another ten years of distillate-driven spirits and friendship! Nose: soft, malty, and floral with nutty tones; stone and citrus fruits to start, 25 cent gas station jelly beans; heather honey and vanilla extract; honeydew and cantaloupe.
Palate: sweet, fruity, and malty with a bigger than expected body; creamed heather honey, dulce de leche, and crème caramel; lots of fruit, from apple & pear, to juicy orange, to ripe melons; Jelly Bean notes are still there, but much fresher than they appeared on the nose; still malty, candied nuts, imitation leather, and warming spices to round things out.
Finish: creamy, fruity, and decadent with warming spices.
Comment: rather juicy, this is an appropriately decadent dram, bright, fruity, and creamy, with warming spice; Happy 10th Anniversary Igor, this is a lovely malt!

This mystery Orkney malt, bottled under the Old Orkney label, was distilled in 2005, and bottled at 58.7% after 19 years in a Refill Hogshead cask. Almost certainly Highland Park!

This 14 year old Williamson was bottled for Heads & Tails to mark their 10th Anniversary. Williamson is a Scotch whisky euphemism for Laphroaig, a reference to Bessie Williamson, who once owned and operated the distillery. Distilled in 2010, matured in an ex-Bourbon Barrel, and exclusively available in Canada! 51.3%
