"Named for the beautiful region of its origin, Saanich is a whisky born from a chance encounter. After being denied a barrel from a sought-after Vancouver distillery, a chance opportunity arose; a cask of a Vancouver Island single malt was offered. This 4.5-year-old spirit spent the majority of its life in a Moscatel Barrique, resulting in an explosively bright, fruity, and floral profile—a truly unique expression of Canadian Island whisky.
"As we didn’t purchase this barrel direct from the distillery, we’re not using their name on the label. But there’s only one well known distillery in Saanich on Vancouver Island that’s known for making whisky. To further make things interesting, this cask is supposedly peated, yet we haven’t been able to detect any ourselves. Maybe you will?"

Nose: Aromatic & Exotic. Explodes with bright, tropical, and floral notes: peaches, honeydew, cantaloupe, kiwi, fragrant honeysuckle, and delicate jasmine tea.
Palate: Sweet & Effervescent. A delightful sweetness of peaches and honey, balanced by fresh fruit notes of apples and green grapes. A surprising lift from ginger ale adds energy.
Finish: Bright & Refreshing. Clean and refreshing, defined by an effervescent ginger ale quality, fading with sweet notes of apples and honey.

Eau Claire's 8th release of their own Single Malt Whisky was matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Oloroso Sherry casks that were carefully selected and married together. The resulting whisky is bottled at 44.4%.
Batch 008 of Eau Claire Distillery's Single Malt Whisky has arrived, and this marks the first limited release helmed by Master Distiller Daniel Gowrie. Like Eau Claire's prior Master Distiller Caitlyn Quinn, Gowrie attended Heriot-Watt University in Scotland for their Brewing and Distilling Program.
