Val d'Oca Prosecco Millesimato Brut
$34.99
Val d’Oca is one of the oldest, leading producers of Prosecco. Their sparkling wines are made with the Glera grape which is cultivated and vinified in the hills of Valdobbiadene. The mountainous vineyards of Valdobbiadene are the main source of Italy's best Prosecco, and its designation of origin is not only controlled but also guaranteed. It's pale yellow in colour with upfront citrus and floral aromas followed by stone fruit and citrus on the palate.
Lamura Pinot Grigio
$19.99
Always in the running for our best-selling white, especially in the summer, and as of 2021 it's certified organic! Its straw yellow in colour, with some copper reflections that revoke the typical colour of the grape. This wine has an intense bouquet of fruits such as apple, melon and citrus, matched well with more delicate mineral aromas. Fresh and zesty, it pairs well with seafood and fish.
Sicily has a history of wine-making that dates back to ancient times. Blessed with consistently bright sunshine and reliably moderate rainfall, Sicily’s classic Mediterranean climate is ideally suited to the production of organic wine grapes.
Poggio al Sole Chianti Classico
$37.99
A charming Chianti Classico from an excellent producer, and a Kensington Wine Market exclusive! Giovanni Davaz owns fifteen precious hectares of vineyards in Tavernelle Val di Pesa where he grows very fine Sangiovese, muscular Cabernet Sauvignon, and dense, powerful Syrah. Generous use of small barrels in vinification barely tame the exuberant, broad fruit quality of his wines, and the firm, large-scaled tannic structure in them makes them suitable for extended aging. Ripe and rich fruit gives this wine lush notes of sweet cherries and leather. Very food friendly, especially with herb-roasted chicken. Organic and vegan friendly! Made from 90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo.
Tedeschi Pinot Grigio
$28.99
Tedeschi boasts a deep bond with the Valpolicella region that has kept it on the path of quality and tradition, produced almost exclusively from grapes grown on hillsides. Since 1630, their family has believed in the extraordinary potential of local wine production, enhancing its value in a modern key with innovative production and environmental management methods, with the end result of creating wines that can evoke emotion and render homage to the magnificent land.
Coca i Fito Jade
$41.99
Spain's Montsant region is home to Coca i Fitó, a winery located in the municipality of El Masroig, in the southernmost part of the region, with nearly 30 hectares of vineyards sprawling across various municipalities, with brothers Tony and Miquel Coca i Fitó crafting wines full of soul and identity from these distinct terroirs. Garnacha is king in these parts, and the rugged terroir of Montsant allows the grapes to reach their full potential, much as they can in areas like Châteauneuf-Du-Pape. They also grow a fair bit of carinyena (aka carignan) and syrah, another commonality with Châteauneuf-Du-Pape.
Poggio al Sole Ponente
$61.99
Poggio al Sole is known for its excellent Chianti Classico, so Johannes Davaz was initially reluctant to plant Bordeaux varietals on his hill in Tuscany. But he can't argue with the results: the Poggio al Sole Ponente. This IGT Rosso Toscana (Super Tuscan) is made from 1/3 each of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Look for intense aromas and overall freshness. The taste is warm with notes of ripe fruits. Round and complex with ripe tannins, it shows hints of spice and minerality. Perfect to pair with Florentine Steak. Organic and vegan friendly!
Paolo Leo Pinot Grigio
$26.99
Although Pinot Grigio is more common in Northern regions such as Veneto and Friuli, there is something to be said about producers growing Pinot Grigio in the South. With the right soil, proper care, and a knowledgeable (and talented) winemaker, Pinot Grigio from Puglia can be a fresh and fruity summer sip. Perfect to be served as an aperitif or complement to summer seafood dishes.
Terminus Meldor
$29.99
Ana & Carlos Gonzales (of Bodegas Terminus) met in high school and have been together ever since. Their only time apart was when Carlos decided to undertake his university studies in Oenology in Tarragona rather than his homeland of Rioja, while Ana studied Oenology right in Rioja. Both winemakers work for or have worked for some of the top brands you can find in Spain, but they always wanted to have a project of their own. When they found the right partners and the right vineyard sites in Rioja Alavesa, they knew that the time had come to focus their knowledge and passion on making their own wines. This is a small production Rioja full of personality that conveys care, craftsmanship and quality! A great Tempranillo from the heart of Rioja, it's a smooth, rich wine with notes of summer berries, spice and toffee. Aged for 4 months in barrel, this wine is fuller in style, with soft, yet firm tannins. Serve with hearty dishes such as beef stew, vegetarian chilli, and hearty soups.
A KWM Exclusive!
Aubuisieres Vouvray Brut
$29.99
Serious bubbles that are consistently the "best value in its appellation" - this is not just a great value, it is also a favourite of both Kensington Wine Market staff AND the staff of our next-door neighbour's Peasant Cheese!
Formerly known as Domaine Bernard Fouquet, until Bernard retired in 2021, handing the reins to Charles Lesaffre. Charles is the grandson of Gérald Bruley des Varannes, the man from whom Bernard's father André acquired his first vineyards, thereby bringing the story of the Domaine full circle. An avid practitioner of viticulture and oenology, Charles joined Bernard as an associate in 2019. Two years into his tenure, Charles has emphasized organic and biodynamic practices. Charles has continued, as Bernard before him, to capture the unique Vouvray mineral tones, along with the wonderfully balanced expression of fruit of the Chenin Blanc grape, in his wines.
