Château Prieuré-Lichine’s history is an amazing mix of different eras and styles. From the Roman origins of the property to its rebirth under the Ballande group, 500 years of historic figures and events at this estate have lent it much respect in the Bordeaux community, thanks in large part to Alexis Lichine, the man who really brought this chateau to the forefront. The 2022 vintage has a deep ruby colour with aromas of cassis, licorice, black cherries, spice and cigar box.. There's lots of dark berry fruit, nougat, taut tannins, minerals, fine salty nuances, and good length. It will continue to improve for another decade or more.

Château Cantenac Brown is an 1855 classified third growth, located in Cantenac within the most prestigious Médoc appellation, Margaux. The vineyard was founded over 200 years ago by a Scotsman, John Lewis Brown. This visionary figure selected the best parcels of land: his hard work and high standards were rewarded in 1855 when the Bordeaux Classification ranked Cantenac Brown among the most esteemed vineyards. The ripeness is outstanding, with lots of colour, and refined aromas. It's complex and spicy, while the tannins are elegant and plush but show underlying power. It stands up to the challenge of the 2018 and 2019 vintages, with a pretty dash of supplementary freshness. It's a blend of blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot, a great choice for the cellar.

It was not by chance that Bernard O’Phelan (1770-1841), a young Irish wine merchant, left his native town of Tipperary at the end of the 18th century to set himself up in Bordeaux. The town at this time was an important trading hub with the British Isles. Close relations were built up between the families that bought and sold the wines of the region from one another. These links were such that they led to alliances and even marriages, in particular that of Bernard Phélan with one of the daughters of Daniel Guestier, a well-known merchant in the Bordeaux wine market. Helped by the experience of his father-in-law, he could now envisage producing his own wines. At the beginning of the 20th century, Château Ségur de Garramey took on its modern name of Château Phélan Ségur.

To celebrate the 2020 vintage, Goulée by Cos d’Estournel has been renamed G d’Estournel. In the 2020 vintage, the Merlot from the vineyard in the northern part of Médoc turned out as exceptional as it did at the flagship property of Cos d’Estournel. It saw more extreme weather conditions and less rain than Saint-Estèphe, but the vines being aged 35 years old on average, they were able to compensate thanks to their roots, which forever dig deeper from one year to the next, and the fresh air brought minerality from the nearby Gironde Estuary and ocean. The resulting wine displays a unique profile: the balance and aromatics of a fresh vintage are accompanied by an acidity and a quality of tannins usually observed in warmer vintages. G d’Estournel 2020, carried by the richness of the Merlot, is essentially delectable, and marked by notes reminiscent of salty sea breezes and a black pepper touch that lend it great energy.

Spearhead Winery is located on the benchlands of South East Kelowna. Their focus is on premium quality wine produced from grapes from estate-grown vineyards and from selected Okanagan Valley vineyards. The hand-harvested grapes are sorted at the winery and fermented in small lots. They grow Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. Approximately 80% of 15 acres of vines is comprised of Pinot Noir including four different Dijon clones, 2 California heritage clones and Pommard. This combination of plantings enables their winemaker to select from the different characteristics exhibited by these clones to create a harmonious, complex Pinot Noir from our home vineyard. Sibiliana is the new project from the Cantine Europa Group. A collaboration between Sicilian grape growers, it brings together 4500 hectares of vineyards in the areas of Trapani, Agrigento and Palermo. The cooperative includes 2,100 growers and was founded in Petrosino in 1962.
The character of Nerello Mascalese can be compared to that of Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. Light to medium-bodied, it often has a streak of fine tannins. Compared to a Nerello Mascalese from Mt Etna, the Sibiliana Roceno Nerello Mascalese displays a more Mediterranean side of the variety. Exceptional value!
