Osoyoos Larose Grand Vin Magnum
$194.99
88 points from Gismondionwine.com for the 2010 vintage - and this is an impressive magnum format! The review: ""Le Grand Vin", Osoyoos Larose has had a lot to live up to over the years since it burst onto the BC scene with great fanfare in 2001. A partnership between Constellation Brands and Bordeaux's Groupe Taillan, owner of Chateau Giraud Larose, this wine has increasingly grown into its big shoes over the past decade. Concentrated and compact, this is a hard fisted wine for future consumption. Gravels, broken stone, dried earth and faint black cherry aromas open. Bitter cherry, thorns, iron, bitter black plum dominate." Buy a bottle and cellar it for a year or two, or decant and drink now with slow-roasted lamb, roast beef or steak.
Clos des Fous Pinot Noir Subsollum
$37.99
"A great value Pinot Noir with character at an unbelievable price," for the 2016 vintage, according to Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, which awarded it a fine 91 points! And the review: "The 2016 Subsollum Pinot Noir blends grapes from Pucalán in Aconcagua Costa (75%) planted at eight kilometers from the ocean with 10,000 plants per hectare, plus 25% grapes from Itata. The hand-harvested grapes fermented with a long maceration and aging sur lie, and the wine was kept in cement tanks until bottling. There is a leafy side, more a sensation of decayed leaves, a bit musky and earthy. The palate is light to medium-bodied with great freshness that provides a lively, electric sensation and sweet and sour cherry flavors. This is a great value Pinot Noir with character at an unbelievable price." The winemakers aim to make wine in extreme regions, and some call them crazy. Others, well, we think they're visionaries. Check it out while you can.
Cirelli Trebbiano
$31.99
A small-production organic wine from Abruzzo, Italy! Such a beautiful wine, loaded with pretty floral and peach notes, from a producer that's been making organic, biodynamic wines since 2003. (This particular one is aged in an amphora, a large, clay vessel — the way wine used to be made 2,000 years ago!) Serve chilled.

Astrolabe Sauvignon Blanc
$28.99

Peter Wetzer Kekfrankos
$39.99
"I grew up in a winemaker family and while working in the wine industry I also studied intensively the world of wine. It made me realize the big difference between the wines close to nature and the ones which are influenced by the industry. I want to make special wines which have personality and identity, delicate wines with character influenced by their origin and heritage with traditional grape varieties which translate the sense of place," says Peter Wetzer. As for the wine? The grapes are Kekfrankos, sometimes called Blaufrankisch in other parts of the world, including Canada. This red wine is organic, biodynamic, and will likely appeal to fans of Pinot Noir. It is unfined and unfiltered, and contains no added sulphur. A fascinating red that changes constantly in the glass."
