Owned and operated by the Vallet family since the early 19th Century, Montifaud is renowned for having a caring and careful approach to cognac with emphasis on traditional methods. The team also has a collection of bottles dating back to 1830. The vineyard covers 50 hectares and is in the heart of Fine Petite Champagne. Aged between 8-10 years in old Limousin oak casks, this Montifaud VSOP is tremendously mellow, with notes of pears, apricots and nuts on the palate. Smooth and satisfying.

The Château Montifaud has belonged to the Vallet family for six generations.The vineyard was created in 1837 in the two finest areas in Cognac - Petite Champagne and Grande Champagne. The XO is a blend of 30-35 year old Cognacs, which sets it apart from most XO's which rarely contain Cognac more than 25 years of age. The XO is exceptionally rich and smooth. Easily our best value!
As of March 31st, 2019 a Cognac must be aged for a minimum of 10 years to be given the XO designation.

The brewery never had a desire to produce copies of existing beers. As a consequence, La Chouffe and Mc Chouffe are distinctive and unique. Marcel lapierre took over his father's vineyard in 1973, and started to challenge the norm. His mentor, Jules Chauvet was one of (if not) the first person to speak out about natural wine; a style of wine that is honest and true to what nature intended. With Lapierre joining Chauvet, his winery is one of the biggest names known to the natural wine world. Unfortunatley Marcel passed in 2010, but his son Mathieu and daughter Camille carry on his legacy, producing natural and delicious Beaujolais. This Morgon is one of their flagship wines. It's stony, it's flinty, it's dark plum, it's cherry, it is complex. A wine that can age, but also is showing well in its youth. Sit back, relax, and experience Lapierre.

Torlesse takes its name from an early Canterbury resident, surveyor and farmer, Englishman Charles Torlesse. He gave his name to the Torlesse mountain range, which partly circles the Canterbury Plains, and was at one time the largest land owner and farmer in North Canterbury and the founder of the nearby town of Rangiora. Interestingly, Torlesse is also the name given to the underlying bedrock from which most New Zealand soils are derived. The Torlesse winery was built and opened in March 2000, but Torlesse has produced wines from 1991 onwards, making it one of the older wineries in Waipara. Most grapes are hand harvested, and the winemaking team is led by owners Ben & Pete Rayner, while Maggie Rayner leads the cellar door team. They have been cultivating and producing excellent wine for over 30 years.
