Definitely an island style with typical smokiness, but with elements of a classic single malt that include a smoothness, roundness and heather-honey accent all its own. Very capable of developing to great ages, the distillery is now making available some older vintages which display considerable depth and richness. Consistently one of the best single malts in the world. Heather & honey on the nose, w/ hints of sap, peat, smoke & fresh oak. Lightly salty on the palate with layers of flavor. Amazing finish.
