This Brunello is produced by Sivio Nardi, one of the leading lights in Montalcino. This is really fine on the palate with wonderfully integrated tannins that give tension and focus. It’s medium-bodied with lovely berry, cherry, cedar and spice. Peaches and flower stems, too. Creamy texture. Extremely long and vivid. Structured, but showing beautiful drinkability with wonderful balance and form.

Meyer is one of BC’s top wineries, focusing on small premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Each wine reflects the single vineyard of its origin, the soil, the meso-climate, the aspect and the people that hand tend the vines. All wines are Hand-harvested and hand-crafted, with great attention to detail and minimal winemaking intervention. Meyer Family Vineyards wines are produced from two main vineyards, the 1.62-hectare “Old Main Road” vineyard on the Naramata Bench and the 6.9-hectare “McLean Creek Road” vineyard in Okanagan Falls. The McLean Creek spends 11 months in French oak (22% new). Easily one of the best Chardonnays produced in Canada.

Bodegas Baron Micaela has a range of four Amontillados; this is the youngest (around 4-5 years of age), together with the Pino Viejo (same age). There’s also an older Amontillado Xixarito (15 years) and Amontillado Soluqua (30+ years).
As an Amontillado, it ages under floe during the first few years. After that, it is fortified again, eliminating the flor and provoking a period of oxidative ageing. It should be great with jamón ibérico, grilled asparagus or anything with mushrooms.

Acidity and sweetness
This sake invites you to focus on the balance of acids and residual sugars. One notch less polished, rice so much to express itself more in a suavity specific to Yamada.
It will nevertheless be necessary to wait a minimum of a year for the sugars to concentrate and release the potential of this sake.
From then on and for at least five years at each tasting, the mouth will evolve, sometimes declining on pear and melon from the Andes, more and more ripe.
With white fish or crab meat, the fusion is complete.
