Tyrconnell Irish Single Malt
$54.99
The Tyrconnell is an Irish Single Malt Whiskey. It is double distilled and produced by Cooley Distillery, which is owned by Beam Suntory. Bottled at 43%.
Producer Description
"As a double distilled, single malt, The Tyrconnell® occupies a territory all its own. The double distillation process lets The Tyrconnell ® retain the character of its origin, creating an end product with a delicate flavor that lives alongside a creamy and viscous profile. The Tyrconnell® Single Malt puts a great pressure on those who create it, as every decision between barley selection and bottling will reveal itself in the flavor profile. The Tyrconnell® overcomes these challenges with flying colors, with a robust flavor profile built on a backbone of citrus and honey flavors. In the spirit of the unlikely champion that became its namesake, The Tyrconnell® is a whiskey made by those who are not afraid to bravely defy the odds."

Peter Wetzer Solmo Furmint
$41.99
"Peter Wetzer grew up in a winemaking family, and while he studied the world of wine he came to realize he vastly preferred the wines that were made more naturally. In 2007 he purchased five different vineyards around the town of Sopron, in the northwest part of Hungary. Sopron was formerly the capital of Burgenland, so it is not surprising that the Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch) variety is so commonly found here. Peter works Kékfrankos on five different vineyard sites comprising 2.5 hectares and additionally has 1 hectare of furmint vines he planted himself near the Ság volcano, and another hectare of vines from a few different varieties like Pinot Noir. He works to have very healthy soil, with natural biodiversity, and minimum spraying with copper sulfate and a nettle tincture he makes. He believes in minimal intervention in the vines, never tilling the soil or trimming the leaves. All grapes are hand harvested, and the vineyards are all fermented separately."
"The grapes for this cuvée come from the eastern side of the Somló volcano. Soils here are Basalt, Tuffeau, and Loam as one might expect. The grapes are crushed by foot and then whole cluster pressed in an ancient and tiny hand cranked basket-press. The wine then ferments in neutral puncheon over the fall and winter. Once the wine is dry it gets racked into stainless steel for five months. A small amount of Sulphur is added at bottling." Juice imports

Castarede Armagnac 1975
$269.99
If you are looking to gift somebody a birthyear bottle of something they can either drink now or hold onto as long as they want, Castarède Armagnac should be considered.
The Armagnac House Castarède was founded in 1832 and remains in the same family to this day. It is now headed by Florence Castarede, who is the sixth generation of the Castarède family in charge of the Armagnac house. Castarède has an impressive selection of vintages still available, with consecutive vintages from 2003 back to the 1890s.
The vineyards are in the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region and are planted with a variety of grapes: Folle Blache, Colombard and Saint-Emillion. Castarede Armagnacs then get aged in black oak barrels in the family's ancient cellars, before a little bit finds its way to Canada for fans like us!

Rabl Gruner Veltliner Loess
$27.99
Rudi Rabl comes from a winemaking tradition that dates back to 1750. The love for nature and grapes, the ecological work in the vineyard with herbal plants and the knowledge of the professional processing ensure an excellent quality of the different types of wine. In the basement, modernity is combined with traditional values. Ecology is an important factor and the winery has been certified as “Sustainable Austria” since 2015. Among the highlights of the awards in recent years is the “White Winemaker” of the Year 2019 at IWSC in London, the two Decanter Trophy Winners Grüner Veltliner Dechant and Riesling Steinhaus, as well as the 2017 regional winner in the Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc categories. In addition, the winery was awarded “Winery of the Year” in Kamptal.
Peter Wetzer Blumenthal Kekfrankos
$49.99
"The fact that Peter Wetzer makes any wine at all is a little astonishing. Firstly, he is located in Sopron, a small region on Hungary’s boarder with Austria. His absolutely tiny cellar (if you can even call it that) is in the basement of his family house, in a suburb; shockingly, it’s more complete than his newly obtained cellar, several stories under a house built in the 1700s that looked more like a demolition zone than a winery."
"This is one of the most spectacular vineyards I’ve ever seen: Silberberg really is a Silver Mountain. Sadly, it is sparsely planted anymore, most grape growers long abandoned the steep low-yielding hill in favor of flatter, easier to farm sites. The vines that are still there are well over fifty years old and have their roots deep in schist and quartz. Higher density plantings keep yields perfectly in check. The wine is fermented in open-top wooden vats with 5% whole-clusters. After being pressed off the wine ages in neutral barrels until the following summer." Juice imports
