Yukon Gold Ale

"The Yukon’s number one selling draught (yes, including the mega-breweries), this ale was designed to be an almost “non-ale”. It is golden in colour, brilliantly clear, and clean across the palate. The mix of 5 malts still provides subtle character in the body, and the addition of malted wheat provides a slight, but characteristic citrusy finish.
Hopped with noble Saaz, Sterling and UK Golding, the bitter is barely perceptible, but mild hop flavours linger in the after-taste; the dry, clean finish provides a refreshing perk at the back of the palate. The full package mimics the classic milds of the British Isles, with a bit of Yukon spirit, just to make sure you remember what part of the world it’s from!
The artwork on the package and label was created by Artist Lynn Blakie. Her piece captured the gold that’s present not only in the soils of the Klondike but in the spirit of the north. Gold is in the colours and culture of this place, the campfires and the ever-lasting summer sun."

Among winemakers in Germany, Beurer is revered and his whites and reds are nearly always considered among the greats. Few winemakers are able to achieve such thrust and such purity, from the simpler Trollinger and Portugieser up to Grauburgunder, Sauvignon Blanc and, yes, Riesling. His winery is in Swabia, a southern region only recently created by the importer Selection Massale. Swabia is not part of the old-school, cannonical history of winemaking in Germany. It is a fertile place, with a diverse array of agriculture. Which brings us to the second reason that Beurer is not as famous as he should be: he does not focus solely on Riesling, but embraces the wild and complicated diversity of Teutonic grapes and wines.

He works his wines organically in the Rheinhessen, the largest of Germany’s 13 quality wines regions known for acid-driven and precise Muller Thurgau and Riesling. Here Marto leaves these classic grapes on their skins a touch longer for added texture and flavour. A complete non-interventionalist, this is made from native yeast with no filing and filtration and no added sulphur.

We’ve held this name in the bank for a while, waiting for the right moment—the dankest of dank WCIPAs, timed to everyone’s favorite high holiday. We went all in with some of our fave hand-selected hops (Nelson, Mosaic) alongside the most resinous lots we could find otherwise(Columbus Cryo and Nectaron.) The early palate hits with a clear, intense burst of tropical and citrus fruit, and, of course, lots of that sweet mary jane. Think maximum hop saturation, balanced by a light body. Drank ’em if you got ’em.
