It's a good time to be a Tomintoul fan (assuming such peeople exist). The distillery has never really cask much of a shadow here, but we are seeing an incredible range of releases available all of a sudden. Better still, a range that spans all ages and a whole load of unique expressions. If you're not a Tomintoul person, maybe now is the time to dive in. Truly an underappreciated whisky. 

Producer Note: "Our 17 Years Old Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask Finish was distilled in 2005 and matured initially in American ex-bourbon oak casks before being finished in the finest Pedro Ximénez Sherry butts from Fernando de Castilla in Andalucía, Spain. These sherry butts perfectly complement Tomintoul Single Malt by imparting rich fruit flavours, which enhance the character and complexity of our whisky."

Picpoul is an ancient grape that has developed a new generation of followers. Lively and subtle, this is a benchmark example of Picpoul de Pinet. Pale straw yellow in appearance, the nose has fresh aromas of lemon, green apple, quince and sea salt. Sharp acidity, crisp citrus flavours, and crunchy minerality punctuate the light-bodied palate. This is a wickedly mouthwatering and refreshing white wine! If any wine was ever perfectly conceived to pair with oysters, this is that wine!

Grenache has long been held in high regard in McLaren Vale as a versatile variety wonderfully suited to the Vale's coastal climate. A soft, elegant wine that pairs beautifully with food our Grenache is rapidly becoming a firm favourite amongst our supporters.

Planted on the Eastern facing slope below the winery, our Grenache enjoys a sunny aspect, often tempered by a cooling afternoon breeze. Fermented in the original open top fermenters and basket pressed, the Grenache spends a short time in seasoned French oak puncheons.

The result is an elegant, juicy Grenache in a bright and expressive style. Gentle tannins and a fleshy palate give a soft and generous mouth feel. This old timer of the Vale is enjoying it's time back in the spot light.

The distillery was founded by a group of friends that were pondering the meaning of life and bemoaning the lack of Finnish Rye Whisky one day in - you guessed it - a sauna.
