This 10 year old Kilchoman 100% Islay single cask was selected by and bottled for The sinDicate, a Calgary whisky club. The 2015 vintage whisky was matured in an ex-Bourbon Barrel, cask 15/334, before bottling at 56.8%. The club took most of the 231 bottles, but KWM has the honour of selling the remaining quarter of the cask.

Mystery Malt Series 5 from Thompson Bros consists of 38 whiskies, ranging in age from 5 to 27 years. They are all single malt Scotch whiskies, bottled at 46.3%, but you won't know which whisky you've got until you take the bottle home and break the foil seal, and lift the cap. You might end up with a Dornoch 5 Year (0.63% chance), a Miltonduff 17 Year (2.23%), a Glen Garioch 27 Year (1.91%), or one of 35 other options. SCN Williamson 9 Year KWM Cask

Our first KWM single cask of Laphroaig single malt, bottled as Williamson, is a 2015 vintage 9 year old finished for 3 years in a 2nd Fill PX Sherry Hogshead before bottling at 57.4%. We did bottle an A.D. Rattray Williamson cask roughly 8-10 years ago, but it was a tea-spooned Blended Malt. This is a sweet, dirty, sherried, and rather drinkable Laphroaig!
El Castro Valtuille Godello

While Albariño is the signature white wine for Galicia, Godello is quietly catching up. For this wine, the white Godello grapes are harvested manually in a single day. When they reach the winery, after destemming, the must is pressed and remains cold for 24 hours. After this process, they transfer the must to 225, 500 and 700-litre barrels, in which fermentation takes place and subsequent aging over the course of a year. The barrels are emptied for bottling five days before the next harvest.

As early as 1752, the ancestors of the (Raul) Pérez family were vine growers in Valtuille, making wine from some of the plots that today form part of the winery. Tradition, experience, and respect for the terroir and for the work of their ancestors define the character of their work, mark the profile of their wines and the life of nine generations of the family linked to the family business. The winery is located in Valtuille de Abajo, t the foot of the western slope of Castro de la Ventosa, a Roman site that gives its name to the project.

This historic McLaren Vale winery began producing wine in 1895, vinifying 9,000 litres of a (mostly) dry red blend, destined for export to Britain. During the 1890s they built the first part of the winery consisting of a crusher, fermenting tanks, press and storage tanks, most of which still stands today. By 1910 they had 35 acres in production. Export to Britain of dry red blends, mostly made from Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz, steadily grew. In 1906 they started buying grapes to increase production.
Fast forward to the beginning of the 21st century. Stelvin caps replaced corks, overseas trade of bottled wine expanded, the Basket Press varietal range was established and two of their icon wines, the Cuthbert Cabernet and Hillside Shiraz, became two of the most collectible wines in Australia. Trossos 90 Minuts Priorat

A Kensington Wine Market exclusive! The arid vineyards of Priorat, about a 90-minute drive from Barcelona, produce some of the most sought-after Spanish red wines. Meaty and full-bodied with dark red berries and earthy spice. This is one of our best-selling red wines, and sales go up drastically when the weather cools. It's a blend of 85% Garnacha (aka Grenache) and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines grow on steep, rocky terraces and face challenging, dry conditions and high temperatures. The harsh climate makes for unique, concentrated wines with real complexity, however. Trossos del Priorats farm their land utilizing organic viticultural practices and the wine is fermented in stainless steel tank for a duration of around 21 days. It is then aged in a combination of French and American oak for 12 months. Complex, bold and rich, Trossos Priorat is a perfect match for red meats and game. Think rustic dishes, such as braised short ribs or a chicken stew.

This was the oldest bottle of whisky ever bottled, for a little over a year and a half, and it is exclusive to KWM in Alberta! Only 4 of the 250 decanters produced are destined for Canada. Distilled February 3rd, 1940, at the Glenlivet Distillery, the whisky was filled into a First Fill Sherry Butt, and matured 80 years before botlling on February 5, 2020, at 44.9%. Much like the Loire region in France, Chenin Blanc tends to thrive in parts of South Africa and as such it is widely planted, yielding some excellent results. This 100% Chenin Blanc (or Steen as it is sometimes called locally) comes from the Swartland region. It is produced by the Mullineux family and it is fermented in both tanks and used French oak barrels to create a balanced wine with both silkiness and acidity. Great value in a crisp summer white.
