Confiscated refers to a fanciful story about a confiscated warehouse of whiskey barrels during prohibition, yadda yadda yadda. Kentucky Owl is a revived brand with roots that go back to its founding in 1879. It was recently relaunched in 2014 with whiskey from an undisclosed source in Kentucky. The brand itself is owned by the Stoli Group of Stolichnaya Vodka infamy. Bottled at 48.2%.
Tamnavulin Double Cask

Relatively speaking, Tamnavulin is a baby. The distillery was only founded in 1966, and a core range wasn't even a twinkle in the owners' eyes until just a couple years ago. It's almost certain that most of Tamnavulin's production, even today, finds its way into the Whyte & MacKay family of blends. It's a shame really, as the distillate is good. While it would be nice to see the range expanded to include some higher age statement expressions...baby steps; we're just happy to see it finally being made available.

We aren't much into flavoured rums here at KWM but the Plantation Stiggins' Fancy Pineapple is one of those execptions to the rule. This bottling takes the rum from Plantations excellent 3 Stars White Rum then gives it an infusion of pinapple rinds another distillation, then blends it with Plantation's Original Dark rum which has been infused with pinapple fruit. Bottled at 40% and out of this world good!

Stephane Usseglio produces wines under his own label and is now in charge of winemaking at his family's domaine, Raymond Usseglio & Fils. It's a blend of 70% old vine Grenache from 80-year-old plus vines, along with some old vine Syrah and Cinsault. Lirac is situated opposite Chateauneuf-du-Pape on the opposite side of the Rhone River (hence the name, which translates to "the other shore"). The best examples of Lirac, like this one, can give Chateauneuf a run for considerably less money.
