My Tasting Note: Nose: very fruity with fleshy red fruits like plums and apricots; a vanilla base under a thin veneer of wine tannins and saddle leather; Palate: at first spice: clove, black pepper and allspice; then sweet creamy vanilla and honey; the wine influence adds a fruit bar like character, with saddle leather and soft earthy tannins; Finish: drying, sweet and leathery with more traces of honey, vanilla, spice and leather.

Each bottle is presented in a bespoke wooden box, handmade in oak by Scottish craftsmen Sam Chinnery and hand-engraved by his father. "Rich, mellow and beautifully balanced on the nose. Sweet, with oak, sultanas, peaches, honey, vanilla and a whiff of worn leather. The palate is vibrant and luscious, with ginger, stewed fruits and developing bitter chocolate. Slowly and elegantly drying in the finish, with aniseed and liquorice sticks. 48.5%"

Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: honeyed and creamy with melon and dried cherries; Strawberry Twizzlers, mixed berry jam, marmalade and floral malt.
Palate: still very honeyed, creamed honey, big toasty American oak, and mixed nuts including: almonds, cracked walnuts and cashews; very decadent, becomes earthier with dried orange and more floral tones with building decadent spice.
Finish: long, toasty and floral with more dried orange peel and earthy spices; drying and faintly bitter.

Ben Nevis distillery is located in the Highlands in the town of Fort William. The distillery sits in the shadow of Scotland's tallest mountain, with which it shares its name.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: earthy and leathery with dried fruits, some malt and honey; moist spring tulips, marmalade and peppery spice.
Palate: rich, fruity and malt, layers of lush fruits; there is a waxiness to the whisky with melons, mangoes, pineapple and tropical fruits; a touch of leather and spice with a touch of wet leaf litter and damp earthen warehouses.
Finish: long, rich and coating with the spices building over top of layered fruits.
Comment: a lovely sherried whisky, lots of fruits and a touch of spice.

A very rich 9 year old from the Northern Highlands matured in a 1st fill barrel and bottled at 59.6%
Flavour profile: Young & spritely
Outturn: 224 bottles
Panel's tasting note: "The nose started off spirity – white pepper, new pine and varnish; then lemon candles, lemon sherbet, liquorice, wood ash and old-fashioned rucksacks (canvas and leather) on a parquet floor – perhaps the start of a spring-time excursion? Water calmed it down – laundry, white chocolate, vanilla, milk bottle sweets and pretzels. The neat palate was definitely fierce – somewhere between dental anaesthetic and Fireball XL5! – Scotch bonnet chili, lemon zest, glue and Haribo gummies. It became much sweeter in reduction – lemon barley water, sweet and salty popcorn and St Clement’s cocktail – the heat now teasing and playful rather than fierce. This distillery replaced ‘Brora.'"
Drinking tip: "This definitely benefits from water - and even then would be a good ‘bracer’ or shot of Dutch courage"
