VELVET UNDERGROUND
This 8 year old Speysider was matured in a 1st fill barrel and comes in at 57.7%.
Flavour profile: Juicy, oak & vanilla.
Outturn: 223 bottles.
Panel's tasting note: "A super sexy nose! Full of fruity bubble-gum, chalk, powdery fruit pastilles, pineapple cubes and many other tropical confections. Superb maturity for the age and dazzling fruit concentration. Reduction brings touches of juniper, sandalwood, scrunched newspaper and white jellybeans. Also, fruit salad juices, sweetened olive oil and passion flower.
The mouth is rich with lime leaf, freshly chopped herbs, cocktail bitter, touches of cough medicine, plain cornflakes and buttery, textural weight. Water brought out fruit teas, lemon balm, sweet fruit cordials, mixed herbs, brown toast and wintergreen. Superb!"
