G&M Glentauchers 1994
$107.99
Glentauchers is surely one of Scotland's least-known distilleries. Located near Keith, it is part of Pernod Ricard's empire and has never had an official bottling. This Gordon & MacPhail bottling was distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2012 at 43%. This little-known dram caught our attention when it scored 96.5 points in the 2014 Whisky Bible. We've put our hands on 120 bottles, but with such a great score, don't expect them to last.
Cadenhead Small Batch Dalmore 1976
$431.99
SOLD OUT! - !!!Not expected to return to KWM!!!
Like the other 3 gold label releases of the Small Batch range from Cadenhead, this Dalmore is very limited, with just 6 bottles having found their way to Canada, all to KWM. It is from a single sherry butt at cask strength of 46.2%. 150 bottles released world-wide.
Owned by the parent company of Springbank Distillery, Cadenhead's has very extensive stocks, which it sells through its own chain of shops. The Small Batch Collection was created to sell their whisky at other select retailers. This 37 year old Dalmore is unique in that independent bottlings from this distillery are seldom seem. Only 6 of the 150 bottles produced have come to Canada, all of them to KWM. Bottled at cask strength of 46.2% from single (presumably refill) sherry butt, this is the only one of the new releases we don't expect to open.
Producer's Tasting Note
Nose: sweet and syruppy with a very thick feeling nose. Strawberry syrup and raspberry sorbet. Lots of juicy fruits. Very fresh with a faint hint of tobacco.
Palate: runny toffee, a hint of oak but balanced by oranges, lemon zest and grapefruits. Soft spice notes- star anise, allspice and faint cinnamon.
Finish: Lingering spiciness, a touch of fresh wood and lots of oily fruitiness. A contemplative whisky.

Edradour Caledonia 50ML
$9.89
Arran 17 Year
$116.99
Only 9000 bottles have been released World wide with just a couple hundred finding their way to Alberta! This is the second whisky in a trilogy of 3 leading the way to the distillery's launch of a new core 18 year expression next year. It has been matured exclusively in Ex-Sherry casks. Bottled at 46%.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: fruit flan right off the bat, some creamy vanilla oak, fruit rolls ups and powdered sugar with some decadent spice in the background; citrus fruits and melons develop with some candied apple and poached pear.
Palate: more fruit, and lots of it, some leather, spice and wow what balance; while the citrus, white fruits and melon are there it is the sherry and dark fruits which really dominate—more like Fig Newtons and date squares than the fruit flan on the nose; loads of dark spice, French roast coffee beans and new-but soft leather.
Finish: long, fruity, spicy and smooth.
Comment: I’ve long adored the whisky from this little distillery, but with age I am coming to love it!"
