Glenfiddich Rich Oak 14 Year
$68.99
Region:Scotland > Speyside
Matured 14 years and then finished in New American and European oak before bottling at 40%. This is a step up from the core range of 12 and 15 year olds.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: very honeyed, toasty, fresh and fruity; there is loads of caramel, white fruits and even a little melon.
Palate: a touch drier than expected to start but it slowly rounds out with more caramel, soft spice, loads of vanilla oak and crisp white fruits.
Finish: sweet, fruity and toasty with a little grassy malt.
Comment: I'm not frequently impressed by Glenfiddich, but this is a good session dram; a bottle could disappear in a night.
