The Concertmaster was finished in Portuguese Ruby, Tawny, and Vintage Port wine casks. Bottled at 40%, the port has a strong influence on the whisky which was first matured in specially selected American Oak casks. The marrying and finishing in port barriques mellows the flavors and adds a smoothness to the whisky.

Nose: Tropical fruitiness with honey, vanilla, coconut and candy floss.
Palate: rich bodied with natural sweetness and complexity.

Glendronach Cask Strength Batch 1

This first batch of Glendronach's latest core expression was bottled at 54.8% without an age statement. It matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. As few as 250 bottles will find their way to Alberta.
Tasting note by Serge Valentin of www.whiskyfun.org : “This is a brand new one and a vatting of oloroso and PX casks. I know Glendronach isn’t officially a Speysider but I think it does behave like a Speysider. Ahem. Colour: amber. Nose: … and yet a very similar profile, I wouldn’t say that the PX brought much more roundness and sweetness – so far. So a lot of dried fruits again, Corinthian raisins, rich tobacco, chocolate, bacon, mint… and quite some fresh walnuts as well (skins). With water: more leather, game and tobacco (cigar humidor) as well as whiffs of black truffles. Mouth (neat): now it’s sweeter, and quite unusual too. Oh, and rather brilliant. Starts quite nervous, on pink grapefruits and ginger tonic, before some beautiful notes of tangerine liqueur and gingerbread join in the dancing. Absolutely lovely. With water: more bitter oranges and more ‘greenness’ (herbs, chlorophyll) that go very well with this profile. Finish: long, creamy, not cloying at all. Great balance. More black raisins, cocoa powder and cardamom in the aftertaste. Comments: well, it seems that they did it again. Big yet impressively balanced. Not too sure about the price but it’ll probably be a bargain. SGP:562 - 91 points”

Though the distillery is now lost, in fact demolished, there are still a few casks of its whisky laying about, and Loch Lomond Distillers still owns the licence to it, so this is an official bottling. To my knowledge the only one available in Canada!

This 12 year old Inchmurrin is the baby in the range released in 2013 by Loch Lomond. Bottled at 46% without colouring or chill-filtering the whisky was matured in Ex-Bourbon casks.
Inchmurrin is the name of a single malt produced by Loch Lomond Distillers, which is one of the last in Scotland to employ a Lomon Still. The still has plates which can be mainpulate to create different styles of spirit.
Distiller's Tasting Note
Nose: A luscious combination of citrus fruits, spring flowers and honeysuckle.
Palate: Layers of lemon, tangerine and pear with ginger and liquorice highlights. The perfect introduction for any single malt drinker.
Finish: Light, gentle and very smooth with a faint hint of vanilla and aniseed.
