"Matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks. The Oloroso butts give rich notes of manuka honey and golden syrup, whilst the introduction of the PX casks provides warming layers of sweetly spiced ginger candy and ground coffee beans. The purple label reflects the season of Autumn, when crisp leaves coat the ground as temperatures begin to fall."

Lochlea has come of age! This wee Lowland distillery was built on a working farm, they're proud of it. The Sowing Edition is part of a series of limited edition malts meant to reflect the seasons on the farm. This release, dubbed First Crop, was created to exemplify the Spring sowing season. Lochlea is using their own barley, their own water and maturing on site. Distilled in 2018, bottled in 2022. Only 7,000 bottles from First Fill Bourbon. 48%

The heat, faster maturation, and older spirit combine to show a clear progression from last year's edition."
