700ml mlAndrew's Tasting Note
Nose: creamy, malty, and fruity, with a cheesy edge; floral vanilla, toasted oak, and a hint of Greek yogurt; bright orange and lemon with a side of creme de bourgogne.
Palate: thick, malty, and honeyed, with more decadent and fruit than the nose let on; some sour creme and Greek yogurt; orange, lemon, and grapefruit with a citric edge, leading to green apple and a slice of Isle of Mull cheddar; a nice balance of grassy malt and nutty toasted oak.
Finish: still toasty, malt, and fruity (citrus), the duel between the toasted oak and malted barley continues to play out with saline maritime notes edging their way in at the end.
Comment: it doesn't get much better than young Bruichladdich from ex-Bourbon... as Barney Gumble once said, 'just hook it to my veins..." not literally!
